Straight Talk about Psychiatric Medications for Kids

My most borrowed book and a great resource
Very detailed, well-organized and accessible. Does a great job of presenting information in a helpful manner while being neither overly jargon-y nor hand wavy. An essential resource for anyone working with a psychiatrist to help your child manage any number of mental or behavioral issues. Great information about every class of drug currently on the market, known side effects and typical dosages. Very balanced, doesn't come across as an ad for big pharma AT ALL (I mention this because I was a bit worried that it was going to have an undertone of "if in doubt, medicate", which is not my approach at all. Before going the medication route, we tried everything else we could think of, and this book was a great, respectful resource to have when we were exploring our medication options and helped us have content rich and fact based discussions with our child's psychiatrist). This book is in constant rotation amongst my friend group and has helped several people work more effectively with their psychiatrist to find the right options for their children.
