Survivor All-Terrain Case, Compatible with iPod Touch Gen 5 & 6, The Most Protective Case We've Ever Built, Black/Blue (GB35697-3)

I purchased this case to protect my Ipod Touch 5 while backpacking. I am sure that in the realm of shock and dirt protection, it will work fine. But being listed as "waterproof" to all of 7" (200mm), doesn't give me much hope should I fall into a stream...But being "rainproof", it should do alright.I took a series of photos, using the same scene, both with the Ipod removed from the Griffin Survivor, and installed. These photos were taken in an environment where the flash was needed (indoors), and outside. I noted a VERY NOTICEABLE degradation of the photos when the Ipod was inside of the Griffin case. The degradation was MOST EXTREME when comparing the flash photos!If you want good quality pictures, you need to remove the Ipod from the Griffin case.....And this is something that none of us are going to do unless it is planned for in advance. And then, you won't be using the Griffin Case at all, because removing the Ipod, then having to reinstall it, for that momentary photo, is TOO MUCH of a pain in the butt!Operating the Touch controls, and viewing through the protective plastic was very good, no complaints there. I am very disappointed in the photo degradation. As it means I must carry a second camera when I backpack!

I have had & used this case since I purchased my first ipod touch. Yes it has its drawbacks. It's not completely waterproof. Its feel is a bit flimsy it looks not rugged but once you put your itouch in this case you'll see how comfortable it is to hold. How there are no problems with the touch screen. Highly recommended! It's not a case you should throw around like in the samsonite luggage commercial, but it can protect against light falls and bunks and even light rain. 5 Stars! I have looked at countless cases on amazon and none were to my liking than this one.

The case is tough and can clearly take a beating. Haven't really tested it that much, but i'm sure it'll get tested soon enough. The main reason for the four vs. five stars is that it's a bit of a pain to get my ipod in and out of the case. Otherwise it's a great case and i even use the belt clip for when i'm at the gym and it seems to do a pretty good job keeping my ipod close by.

I have broken so many iPods at work before I bought this, and let me tell you, this thing is AMAZING!!! Not a scratch or crack in sight on my iPod!!! Truely a money saver!The screen protector is a bit of a pain. I often have to take it off to clean out the dirt and dust that gets under it, and sometimes it doesn't want to snap back onto the case all the way, which messes with the touch screen, but that's a very very minor problem for the protection this case provides.I've had this case for about a year, and the only sign of wear is a small scratch on the screen protector, and the rubber cover for the headphone jack broke off a while ago, but it's holding up otherwise.

This is one of the best cases out there, if not the best. Look, I went into BB and they had 50 dollar cases that I think are straight junk. I mean, if you trusted your iphone or ipod to those cases, I don't believe they'd be safe. The cover of this case is great. It's not really that bulky. But who cares about a little bulk? The people who want only slim products in their pockets usually are the people walking around with cracked iphones. I bought this one years ago for about 40 or 50 and needed a replacement for my 2014 case. Looked at a lot of cases, returned a few and decided I needed this case again because I think it is the best. A certain store tried to sell me a water proof case with a thin plastic cover that looked more like those cheap screen protectors.. come on.

It was a huge effort just to get this thing apart. Once I finally was able to get my ipod in it would not close properly and the cheapplastic screen protector kept sliding up and down. Then I realised the multi piece casec would not properly or snap into place. Don't even try the belt hook!I did and it was also a no go. Trying to save my ipod was an experience as the parts that did snap properly would not release...

I have always bought the Griffin Survivor Case for every iPod Touch that I have owned. It does a good job of protecting my iPod Touch.This time around I had to work the screen protector around so that the top tab (above the camera) closed first and then I could push the other tabs into the closed position afterwards. Before I figured out that part of the rubbery part was in the way when I was trying to close all of the tabs it was very difficult to finish the installation.Once I did figure out that I had to close the top tab first it was a lot easier to push all of the tabs closed. However, it required a lot of strength to do that. I don’t think anyone who has arthritis would be able to install the case on an iPod Touch.I am really happy that this Griffin Survivor case was available in this colour for my newest iPod Touch. It arrived in a timely manner and the price was pretty reasonable. The vendor doesn’t provide package tracking. However, the Griffin Survivor case arrived within the predicted arrival dates provided by the vendor.So overall I am really happy with this purchase.Update on December 11, 2019I would add to my earlier comments about the Griffin Survivor iPod case that this case has a detachable belt clip that is very handy. The belt clip can be rotated by 90 degrees to be used as a stand for the iPod Touch. So you can put the iPod Touch on a desk or table in front of you and watch videos with the iPod Touch being propped up by the belt clip.

As good as expected. Same quality as the case we have on a much older iPod, the case still stands the test of time. Hopefully this one will too. Very much recommended.
