good lighting for tracing
I haven't used this light box yet but have turned it on and think it is going to be great for my purposes. I was delighted to get a larger light box for the price. I feel that I got a great deal! It is larger but still light weight enough for me to carry. It is flat so I can store it easily. It has a good, strong light and that is what I need but it can be adjusted for less light if needed. It came with two translucent mats, one has a circular grid on it and the other has a regular inch grid. Each inch is divided into four quarters which will come in handy for me. I have no complaints at all. The service was great. I would recommend this product.

U.S. Art Supply Lightmaster 17"x24" (A2) LED Lightbox Board
Large surface to work on, been using it since I received it, super bright.I have not used it for more then couple hours at the time, stays cool the whole time.I gave it its own station, don't see carrying it around but will if I need tooth box it came in would work perfectly for that.Very handy Measuring Grid & Protractor, time saver for angle and straight alignment.

US Art Supply Lightmaster and LightTracer II lightbox
I use this for illustration and tiny calligraphy so haviing it really rigid is important. I had someone cut a half-inch thick piece of foam core to the size of the lightbox—mine is 17 by 24 inches—and I got a set of 4 Artograph Pad Pucks to put under the far end of the light box to make it tilt. I usually just stack them two pucks high for calligraphy but you can use more for watercolor if you want more of a tilt. I have left the lightbox on the foam core and the pad pucks overnight or even weeks or months at a time and they don’t slip. The light is very bright, so I put a large piece of 140 lb watercolor paper over the whole surface and then put my artwork on top of that—the light is easily adjustable, but still too bright for me without that extra paper. I really enjoy using this lightbox for large projects. For smaller projects I use the LightTracer II lightbox which I have had even more years than the lightmaster. The LightTracer II is also five stars and has the tilt built in.

Very large lightbox
Very well constructed. This was larger than I imagined. The only thing I didn’t care for was that it is easy to hit the light “switch” on the right which regulates the brightness and turns the light off.

The best
This was a gift for my wife. She like to do color or paint by numbers. Some of them, actually all of them that she does are so detailed the numbers are super small. She uses an overhead light. With this, it lights up everything in such a different way. You can actually read and see the numbers ! Definitely worth the money. Thank you

but lines at 8 or 9 per inch show up pretty well. The light is so strong that ordinarily ...
The light from this device is strong enough to show black-on-white, 0.1mm-thick calligraphy guidelines through 140lb. hot-pressed watercolor paper!!! Need I say more? I wouldn't try to trace anything microscopic through such thick paper, but lines at 8 or 9 per inch show up pretty well. The light is so strong that ordinarily (i.e., when using standard writing paper) I crank it down to about half for comfort. I think it would work well for transferring sketches for painting, instead of using carbon paper. And at 32.5" diagonally this thing is HUGE. Takes up most of my desk. I bought this size because I did not want even a slight "bump" between my elbow and my hand when writing. I probably could have gotten away with a size smaller. The surface is hard, ink-repellent, and (so far) easy to clean. Great product!

Dead After One Use
I bought this back in 2015 to use to transfer some sketches onto marker vellum. It worked ok for the couple of hours I used it. After the initial use, I placed it back in its box and stored it in my studio until I needed it again.Recently, I had another sketch I wanted to transfer; So I got it out, plugged it in and got ready to trace. For a brief moment, the unit illuminated and then went dead. The red light on the side of the device was on so I knew it was still receiving power. But it seems to have malfunctioned and will no longer light up. Talk about a major disappointment. Two sketch transfers cost me a hundred and fifty bucks... Definitely not worth it!My advice... Buy something else!Also... If you do buy one of these things, you might want to plug it in and let it run for a couple days to reduce the possibility you got a lemon like the one they sent me.
