Same as one of the other reviews, had only been using it for 30 mins and the roof of it peeled off. So clearly not up to the job. Will return and get a different brand.

My existing sand scoop cost just shy of £110 almost twice the price of this and performs as expected and I am comfortable using it so it was to be a good test with this one as a comparison.Well, in a nutshell, I am extremely happy indeed. It is plenty strong enough to accept a heavy foot pushing it into the sand and there is barely any flex in the included pole (the pole was an extra purchase on my setup).I especially like how small this will disassemble which makes transporting it a breeze whether in a car or even a backpack.It does look to be stainless steel as advertised and checking the conductivity (using my metal detector) on my existing scoop and this one, the vdi numbers rang up the same !After a trip on the beach, it is always worth washing with fresh water and after a few hours it still looks immaculate.Price, quality and convenience are spot on and I highly recommend this sand scoop.

This sand scoop is the perfect tool to use when metal detecting on the beach.Super easy to assemble and once build is nice a light weight.The large scoop works well as you can sieve through a lot of sand each time.Good quality and a must have tool while metal detecting.Highly recommend

Certainly up to the task, this is a big and very sturdy scoop.Holes will let most sand/small gravel through but keep anything pea-sized and upwards left in the scoop. It's comfortable to hold and has a moderately pointy end for easily forcing into dry sand and even soft mud.
