Very simple design but this particular phone had serous fault.
I have been using this exact model since they first came out, just for the pure simplictly and sturdy design so after a few years of using (so called SMART phones) I yearned for my old faithful Nokia 1100, as it really only has two button/functions CANCEL or ANSWER this model is or was very reliable ,I am a firm believer in the less functionality a mobile device has the less chance their is of it malfunctioning, also these phones are almost indestructable once some random nutter snatched the phone out of my hand when i threatened to call the police as he was being very obnoxious to some tourists in battersea park(he was claiming to be a reincarnation of Gautama Buddha and they were all tresspassing on his Pagoda I foolishly felt I had to intervene to show that most people here are polite and Courteous, he threw my phone with such force at the solid granite statue that it smashed into many different pieces at which point said NUTTER had obviously decided that it was time to make a quick exit, as all the tourists had by now thought it best to explore some other (hopefully more tranquil part of the park,or at least somewhere they weren't going to be confronted by by any more CRAZIES,LEAVING me to try and salvage what used to be my phone bit by bit as in those days cloud storage wasn;t an option well not for that particular model and all my contacts and numbers were on that phone,at the time I was only hoping to find the all important SIM which would at least be enough to get the all important contact list up and running on a different phone So you can imagine my surprise when not only did I find all the parts but when i put them back together (imagine Humpty DUMPTY BUT MADE UP OF many many MORE BITS) A:not being very well used to fixing anything more complicated than a say replacing a fuse, and B:I was convinced that I couldn't have possibly found every component, Low and behold this little beauty not only turned on but alowed that all imortant call to the Police to connect on the first attempt at using it,Of course by now the barmy Bhuddha was long gone but due to the due diligence of one of the Tourists the Batty Buddha was soon apprehended on Chelsea bridge where he now was claiming to be Poseidon and anyone crossing said bridge would have to pay him a toll.Anyway to cut a very shaggy dog story short ever since then i have owned dozens of these phones and not one of them has or had broken (apart from those that i have managed to abuse EXAMPLES being dropped into hot cup of coffee, swimming in the sea with phone in trunks, and attempting to force a recharge with another brand of phonecharger all things that would definitely come under the WARRANTY VOID declaration that are standard for most electronic devices meant for the very small percentage of idiots like me.So you can imagine my distress on finding out that this phone Advertised as new, unboxed not even refurbished cuts out with an infuriating message saying NETWORK ERROR REFER TOPROVIDER,IT maybe i got very unlucky and this is friday night special but I will defo update when i get the promised replacement.

Just as described.
Nokia phone arrived early, was slightly disappointed to find that were was no charger supplied but I don't think they actually stated in the description that there would be one. Luckily, I had the right charger already. Also, the rubber key-pad did not properly fit and didn't look like the original the phone came with, pressing up was difficult until I swapped the key-pad with my old broken Nokia 1100.Other than that, phone is fine. Thanks!

Basic phone
I ordered this phone for my father who was struggling to use a moderately sophisticated phone. I knew this model was easy to use but couldn't get hold of a new one, so, ordered a used one. I am disappointed in the condition of the phone received. It has big, deep scratch on the clear part, where you read texts, and the battery is severely scratched on all aspects.

Great option for a simple to use mobile
I bought this phone for my 87 year old dad as his old phone a Nokia 8210 was on it's last legs. The main reason I chose this phone is that it still uses Nokias older operating system which is basic and simple (at least by modern phones standards) and is almost identical the 8210s. This made the transition to the new phone painless and easy for my dad. It has a long battery life and has buttons that are big and easy enough for him to use, thank you Nokia for still building this basic classic model, as it is a gem for older people who struggle with technology. If you want a simple easy to use handset this is a great contender. My dad is chuffed to bits with it.

Nearly as good as the original
As A fan of the original German made phone, I was delighted to discover these 'no nonsense' phones were still available. The new ones are no longer made in Germany, but in E Europe, where no doubt costs are lower. The build quality is not bad at all, but not quite as good as the original. But for the price, one can't complain!!

Not a smart phone, just a smart move!
My wife has had the same model for nine years but it finally gave up. Family tried to get her to use a smart-phone butshe remains a lot happier with this basic unit for calls and texts and we use the imac for online use work. So, it is a case of what one NEEDS when we reach the 80's!

Lovely little phone!
The Nokia 1100 is just delightful! It's so cheap, yet still is a high quality, full spec. mobile phone. If, like me, you are bored with the un-necessary claptrap of the camera phone and want a phone to be just that - a phone - to make calls and send text messages, then this is perfect. Small and light, easy to use as all Nokias are, it really is the smart choice! Buy it now! But please, don't see it as a "throw away phone" - you'll destroy its soul and make it very very sad :o(
