Excellent Value... If You're Willing To Put in Lots of Work
Have had several internet radios, and I really like this one.Pros:• High quality build• Excellent sound quality for its small size• Excellent volume (5 watt amp). (The maximum volume of my current portable internet radio is way too low if the microwave and coffee brewer are running.)• Nice clear color screen• Battery (2,000 mAh) lasts a good long time• Quick to turn off by rotating volume knob until it clicks (allows quick return to the station and less frustrating than holding the on/off button)• Excellent reception all over the house• Its FM radio is remarkably good.• Good selection of internet radio stations (they claim 40,000+ stations)Cons:• Poor instructions.• Long learning curve, so not suitable for older adults, small children, etc. It took me about 3 hours of concentrated use of both the radio and the website (www.choyongradio.com) before I'd added almost all the stations I have on other internet radios (a couple of local stations that work on other internet radios were "404 error" and so unavailable, but easy to get these on its FM radio).• Has "News" and "Music" buttons BUT you can't choose the stations for these buttons! So you're stuck with what they want to give you... which is silly and frustrating in this day and age.• It's slow (like other internet radios) but seems a bit slower than others.• Tips over easily, unless it's on its back (however, it does play okay in this position)• Its voice recognition absolutely sucks... especially irksome since it's an entirely superfluous waste of a button.• No Bluetooth.• A few minor annoyances, that include: a clunky way to input WiFi password; no voice/music tone control; doesn't show what's playing (eg Cinemix, scrolls title and composer on our other internet radios); time display includes date and day, but the 24 hour clock cannot be set to show 12 hrs am/pm; and no replaceable battery. After all these cons, you're likely wondering about the 4 stars. However, after putting in the time (and exercising a fair amount of patience) to figure out how to use it, it's a wonderfully portable and attractive unit for this low price.

Total disappointment, not recommended
I have a Choyong LC90, which through firmware updates and improvements works very well while using the Internet radio. Voice search is nearly flawless in that product. With that previous experience, I expected the same with the A8W. Not even close. It's nearly impossible to search out stations. Voice search is terrible. FM reception is awful, there's no antenna. No headphone jack. No way to manually search without endless scrolling through stations.I hate this radio. Returning.I bought an Ocean Digital WR23F to replace it.Same price. I'm actually enjoying the Ocean Digital.

Good sounding small FM/internet radio but not perfect
The Choyong A8W FM/internet radio arrived in a nice package, the radio is about size of Samsung Galaxy cell phone but twice of thickness. Nice clean design with pleasant dark green/blue color, fit and finish is very nice. Comes with a small piece folded instruction which need 20/20 vision to read. and USB-C charging cable and USB-C headphone to 3.5 mm adaptor. No charger included. The reason for me to purchase this internet radio is listening to the international radio stations, and also portable, this radio fits the bill.Good:1. Very good sound quality. It is very important to me that a radio must have a good sound quality. You can not enjoy a radio with bad sound quality regardless how many features it has.2. Connect to wi-fi pretty easy, you have to use upper dial knob to choose the letters and numbers to type in the password.3. FM radio works well. There is no telescope antenna. If you are in big city with strong station signals, you will be OK.4. The internet radio stations is categorized by the regions. Also you can use voice search with English. Not working with Chinese.5. Lots of internet radio stations were built in the radio. much easier than Shortwave radio for sure. Not so good:1. The radio shows FM frequency not matching US standard: for example, the FM90.3 will be picked up at 90.2, even the sound quality is good. The radio will scan the radio stations and saved them for you, you can not tune the frequency with the dial, at least I did not figure it out yet.2. I have saved some stations as favorites station with the "Heart button", but can not find them later.Wish:I wish there is an online video demo to show how to use the radio. In the engineers' mind the design is very good, it is important to show those good designs to the users, that is why iPod and iPhone are so successful.Final thoughts: Just have the radio for two days and amazon wants my review so bad so I just write some my initial impressions here. I will continue monitor the battery, and continue to figure it out more.if you do not mind to spend $50 for a small FM/internet radio, it is not a bad choice.

To many cons, few pros
I did like the size and portability. Sound was "ok" for size. I played with it and almost kept, but,,,,,. All of a sudden it made me purchase more "memory>" Not going to happen. To bad, would have kept.
