Friends Can B e Different
I purchased 21 copies of this book to distribute the the members of our family child care association. I was looking for a book that addressed cultural diversity after a workshop we took and it fit the bill. It was highly recommended in our local newspaper. I have read it to the 2-5 year old children in my care and they enjoyed the story very much, especially the food fight in school. Even amongst such young children, it opened dialogue about the ways we are all different and the ways we are the same. The illustrations are beautiful and captivating and kept the children drawn in. I wuld recommend this book right up to age 7 or 8.

A good story and a good discussion starter
This book with its charming watercolour illustrations holds the interest of children easily. It can also be used as a discussion starter in a classroom or home setting.I read it to the first graders in our school at the end of the school year and each group was enthralled by the story and readily identified with the characters. As well as being used to discuss cultural differences, the story could also be used to discuss friendship or being open to new experiences and as an introduction to foods that are specific to different cultures.

a must-have for all home and classroom libraries
This is one of those books that needs a permanent spot in every home and classroom, as it has so many lessons in it... Lessons of preconceived notions, inclusivity, open-mindedness, diversity, and, yes, both using an action to show remorse AND offering a friend genuine forgiveness. On top of all of that, The Sandwich Swap is incredibly relatable for children, as we've all experienced times when people thought our choices were "yucky" or "gross," or when we've thought the same about others. Ages 4-8.

Excellent buy!!
If you're reading these reviews debating whether or not to buy the book, BUY IT!! I bought this book (a few actually) for gifts for friends who are teachers (for their classrooms) and for friends who are starting to have children. I have been to Jordan before, and seeing the illustrations made me feel like I was back there! The font is classic black and standard size, so its not distracting at all for kids to read. The moral of the story (I think) is fantastic for kids to be exposed to early: differences in cultures, traditions, eating habits, etc., but shows kids how to embrace cultures in really easy to understand ways. The illustrations aren't overboard and distracting either. I bought this book for a friend who has a 2 yr old daughter, but I would not hesitate buying it for either male or female in elementary school. The message of story, and especially to see the ending is really heartwarming.

This book is a great read for children aged 3 years an up! It is also a great story for adults too!I like that it is written by a queen. The simple text and lovely illustrations make it a joy to read.I think many Early Childhood Education settings could make great use of this book as an initial discussion about similarities and differences. A great book to enhance of begin discussions about equality.

Absolutely Wonderful and Relatable
Our girls are learning about real life Princesses/Queens and what it means for them to be a true Princess. We have assigned Queen Rania as one of the Queens for our girls to learn about/from with what it means to be a true princess. When we read this it was not only a wonderful connection but perfect timing and completely relatable to our 1st and 2nd grade girls!!! Thank you for being a difference maker!!!

Me encanta. Me vendrá genial para trabajar en clase con mis alumnos.
Las ilustraciones son muy bonitas y además de poder trabajar el tema de la comida, el mensaje da valores positivos para los niños.

Review
This was a super story written by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan. It teaches us tolerance and broad-mindedness. It was so impressive to see that the Queen of Jordan has the ability to write stories too as well as being a Queen. An excellent story for little children. I'm very glad I bought it!
