Great Customer Service and Seeds...
First of all, I was so happy to find these seeds on Amazon. Like many other reviewers said, these are the Perilla seeds. (Korean ggaet-nip) It was my first time growing these and had trouble getting them to germinate. I reached out to holt garden and got a very quick/friendly response on how to help with the process of germination. After following the thorough instructions, all my seeds are growing into beautiful Ggaet-Nip plants. I used to have to make a trip to the Korean Market just to buy this. I am so happy I can just grow them in my backyard now.

0% germination rate
Iโve bought these sesame leaves about 3 times from this seller. I think this year I got old seeds because none of them germinated. I tried soaking in the water, putting the seeds on wet cotton pads, planted in jiffy pallets. All happened indoors with recommended temperature setting.

Pretty good seeds 5/8 success rate so far.
I would like to preface it that I am a beginning Gardener and I'm learning as I go. I followed the instructions and soaked the seeds before planting them. I planted them in my nursery set up on August 13th. They just broke the surface today on the 19th so it took them a total of 6 days to begin peaking out from the surface of the soil. I planted 8 tiny cells at the same time but so far I only have 5 blooming. Overall however I am quite pleased with the results. As a person trying for the very first time to grow plants from seeds. 5/8 success rate does not seem horrible. So far they are healthy and strong.

didnt sprout
1 week after first review, finally sprouting. Maybe they take longer. Have changed my review, they work!---------------- the sesame leave and pepper seeds arrived timely, in safe packaging, and I so wanted to love this seller as I will be needing different kind of Korean seeds. I have planted these the same time I planted 3 other types of seeds and none of the Korean GGetnip has sprouted. the arugula, lettuce and cherry tomatoes I bought elswhere are thriving. dont know about the pepper seeds, havent had the chance to plant them yet. also, the packaging doesnt state expiration date maybe mine was old... I would like to return for a replacement but how am I gonna dig up the tiny seeds and of course the packaging is long gone. Will try the peppers when season comes, I really hope they sprout

Very easy to grow!
We planted these last summer to eat with fresh spring rolls. Absolutely delicious, but it took over our little garden bed somewhat, lol. Turns out it grows like a weed in zone 8, not that I'm complaining! We initially made the mistake of scatter planting the seeds and it seemed like every one of them sprouted, which resulted in us having to cull halfway through the summer. This year we'll definitely sprout then transplant.

This product has serious issues. After purchasing and using it, I found that the germination rate was 0%. In addition, important information that customers should know appears to be missing. The packaging includes a section in Korean for the seed packaging date, but it was left blank. This makes it impossible for buyers to know when the seeds were packaged, even though the product states that the germination guarantee period is 2 years. There is no way to tell how old these seeds actually are. I would not recommend this product, and I hope other customers avoid making the same mistake I did.

High germination rates, mature plants taste great
Excellent germination rates. Flavor is as expected. I love this herb--so many uses, can be pickled, wonderful used fresh. Very unique taste. My only complaint is that having to pay shipping makes it rather expensive for a packet of seeds. It's a better deal if you buy it elsewhere where you can buy a bunch of different seed packets instead of having to pay shipping for just one. But the quality of these seeds is good. If you're having trouble with germination, try the damp paper towel method instead. Fold up a damp paper towel (not dripping wet but not too dry), place seeds on paper towel and place paper towel into a zip top bag. Check on the seeds daily to make sure they're not too dry or getting moldy. As soon as you see sprouting happening, move the sprout into moist soil-less potting mix. Don't overwater, but don't let the seedling dry out while it's still very small. Once it has a few true leaves, you can stop being too obsessive about keeping the soil moist. If growing outside, it's easier to start it indoors like this and then transplant it out when it has a few true leaves.
