Love it
My husband LOVEs this slicer. We never purchase sliced lunchmeat, we are very price conscious, so we purchase a whole ham, roast or turkey and slice it up for sandwiches, store excess in the freezer etc... The slicer works like a charm. Does beautiful work, easy to set the thickness needed and so super sharp, great care should always be taken when using it. Highly recommend, 10 out of 10

Love it.
This is not something for every day, or even every week - but like my Great Grandma's 5qt stone crock, when you need it you need it; and this will have it's normal home on top of G-Grandma's crock.I sure wish I had this when my son brought over 100 heads of cabbage. Geez. The kitchen aid stand attachment was a help and sure beats a mandolin, but we still had to chop it in small enough pieces to fit into the chute. The instruction manual is ...insufficient...to be kind. No instructions on how to change the blade or where to buy replacement parts. The product page explains some (for as long as remains up), but even the product page is contradictory - in one photo it says the serrated blade is for meat and bread with the non-serrated for fruit, vegetable and cheese then further down it says the opposite. I know from baking bread that you use a serrated blade to cut. The written instructions in the box say don't slice frozen food, the box says you can, the product page says thaw it for 40 minutes then slice. I'm going to go with the safest option - don't slice frozen food. Your guess is as good as mine on serrated vs non-serrated for meat. Trial and error. I know I will NOT be using this to slice my bread - that would take way more time when you factor in unpacking/cleaning/putting away than just using my serrated knife.I don't regret getting this, but it does have issues.

Great Slicer for the Price
The media could not be loaded. I used to work in a deli, so I've used some of the big (and quite expensive) deli slicers used in most grocery store and sandwich shop delis. Those slicers can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000! A decent home use slicer from a brand like Hobart would easily cost 3x what this thing costs. With that in mind, this slicer works very well for the price!I do wish it had a couple small improvements, though.1) Faster blade rotation. This would allow it to cut faster, which would be great for meats and cheeses.2) Larger platform behind the blade, or some other removable receptacle for catching sliced goods. I was slicing potatoes, and as you can see in my video, I had to put a large cutting board behind the slicer to catch the slices, as they were falling off of the slicer.I do like that this slicer comes with two blades (standard and serrated). I look forward to making some homemade breads this winter and trying out the serrated blade on those!I'm still giving it 5 stars, as adding those features would likely push the cost of this machine up too much, and as it is, it is perfectly adequate for home use.

Slices ok, But The Meat Slips Off While In Motion.
This may not be a commercial grade slicer, but it has its pros and cons for sure. On one hand it is a lot better than trying to hand cut it by knife, but it is very unfortunate how you can go along nice and smooth for a handful of cuts and then as soon you get to a certain amount left of the chunk of meat it just starts to get all flimsy and then it just turns and falls off. The good news is it is not a safety hazard of any sort, but it still just makes it difficult to fall in love with this slicer.

Good for the home
This is a good slicer for home use. I would not try to use it for commercial of heavy duty use. It works great for slicing the bulk deli meats that I buy locally. I can use this and slice the meats and package them to suit my needs.
