The National Licensing Exam for Marriage and Family Therapy: A Comprehensive Practice Exam

I am not good at taking standardized exams as I often have trouble understanding what the question is asking. This study guide TRULY helped me to get familiar with the types of questions asked on the exam. Between using the study guide, the accompanying practice exam book and the audio files (can be found on the author’s website), I am happy to say that I passed the MFT exam!! I began studying in October and took the exam in January. I did not study everyday bc I was too busy. But I did go through the entire material listed above.

With tips on identifying the "best" answer and detailed explanations of each answer, I learned an incredible amount and have no doubt this resource proved effective and useful throughout the experience of taking the MFT National Exam. I studied quite minimally leading up to the exam and can confidently say I wouldn't have had a chance without Dr. Violini's materials, as they review each domain presented on the exam - nothing more, nothing less. Whether you have months to study or have procrastinated to the very end (guilty!), you will undoubtedly find the Comprehensive Practice Exam helpful. In addition to the Comprehensive Practice Exam, I would recommend ordering the Independent Study Guide and Audio Review Disc Set, available separately on Amazon or directly from the author's website as a package.

Good study guide to start off for MFT study journey. It is not meant to go deep into watch area of marriage and family therapy theory but was more of a guide to help organize a study schedule and areas of study. The practice exam book(in addition to study guide) was helpful too. The companion app helped with daily quick practice.

This book boils down the vast amounts of information from the field of Marriage and Family Therapy to what is important to know for the exam. Simple and straightforward, and with great preparation hints.
