A fun game to support emotional resilience & regulation
As a school counselor, I’ve had the pleasure of using the Broytain Emotional Ladders and Snakes board game in small group settings with my elementary-aged students, and it’s been an absolute hit! The game strikes a perfect balance between fun and learning, allowing students to identify and manage their emotions through engaging, interactive gameplay. Even my younger students could connect their experiences with the emotions presented, which is a testament to how well-designed and accessible the game is.The game includes 30 blue cards focusing on positive emotions and experiences, and 30 red cards that explore feelings like anger and frustration. Additionally, there are 20 random cards that introduce hypothetical situations, giving students the chance to gain or lose spaces and encouraging them to think critically about how they would respond emotionally. The variety of scenarios helps students not only recognize their emotions but also develop decision-making skills and emotional resilience in a fun way.One of the things my students especially love is helping to set up the game. The board itself is made up of four large puzzle pieces, and along with the dice and game pieces, it’s easy for even young kids to assemble. They love taking part in the setup, which gives them an additional sense of ownership over the experience.Navigating the emotional highs and lows on the board encourages students to become more emotionally aware and to cope with various situations in a supportive environment. It’s a fantastic tool for teaching emotional regulation and resilience, all while keeping kids fully engaged. I highly recommend Broytain Emotional Ladders and Snakes for counselors, teachers, and parents who want to support children in developing critical emotional skills!

Relevant
These an awesome relevant activity to help children with autism learn to identify how scenarios affect emotions and ways they can manage them. The board is made well. It is sturdy and the pieces that fit are finished well with no extra pieces hanging off. The pieces fit together perfectly. The cards are relatable to daily scenarios that children will actually encounter. The fact that it is similar to chutes and ladders or candy land presents a template some children will have become familiar. I think this will be fun for the child and adult alike as we can all learn better ways of managing our emotions.

Great for SEL!
Got this for my emotional support students during our SEL class, I love the idea of learning these skills in a fun way! And the kids enjoy that it is something different. My favorite part is that they learn SEL skills, but the game itself helps teach them how to share, take turns, etc., so it is a double win!

don't need to learn the rules
I like that this game takes a familiar set of rules and injects the emotions theme into it. The variety of prompts are both thought provoking and humorous.⭐️ 1 star= Dissappointed. I don't recommend it, it is poor quality, or it does not reflect the advertising.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars = Has some redeeming quality.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars = It's passable. I might not have bothered.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars = Mostly Satisfied.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars = Entirely Satisfied. Recommend.

Great game!
I got this game to play with my students at school during our social skills sessions. They had so much fun moving along the game board and answering the questions. It was also good number recognition practice. I played it with Kindergarteners, first and second graders. I highly recommend this game.
