Changing my review. This remote works out of the box with IR, but needs direct line of sight. This remote also has bluetooth and after following the directions, I was able to easily pair it to my Sony A80j. Once paired, it now works just like the original remote - no line of sight required and button response is near instant!

This looks exactly like the old Sony remote and functions perfectly with our Sony TV

This remote works perfectly for what I needed it to do with my Sony Bravia TV. It did mention that I need to connect it via bluetooth before using voice commands which is done in the settings. Connected it seamlessly and works great.

Original Sony (Left) vs This Listing (Right)Looks: Remotes are mostly the same, but comparing them side-by-side, you can see some obvious differences. The original Sony has a glossier look and looks more like real brushed aluminum. The buttons look mostly the same, but the quick links to YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video have different colors and fonts. Other buttons have more pronounced markings. Overall, looks aren't all that critical and still a great option for replacement.Feel: This is where I'm a bit torn, the nav button in the center is much sharper and sticks out further. The faceplate is a little loose, although, it's not terrible. The channel and volume buttons actually have a much nicer feel IMO. The other buttons are hit or miss, some have more tactile strength (more clicky) and some are less. It takes some getting used to, but this will all come down to your own preference! If you love the way the Sony remote felt, you might dislike this one.Function: Nothing to be said here, it seems to function exactly the same. I'm still using my original while I can, but I did give this one a try and it appears to pair exactly the same and even shows up as the same device. In the few days I have been using it, everything seems to work as expected.I wish I could give it closer to 4.5 stars, but the loose front panel and sharp edges on the plastic buttons don't quite live up to Sony standards. If noticing small differences doesn't bother you, this is an excellent option! I'm sure I'd probably end up getting used to the new remote, but these are just my initial observations.

i was a little nervous about compatibility and responsiveness, but MAN was this simple to setup and feels even more responsive than the old remote that got lost in the move! it's a tad long though, but that's the only minor gripe!! Love it!

Took me 2 mins to pair with my TV, works great. Looks/feels just like factory.
