A wonderful book offered by a talented writer.
A heartwarming story for those who have experienced cat behavior and love

Skipped a lot but read the end.
To be honest the majority of the story seemed to be about the author whining how miserable her life was.She came off as self absorbed and self centered. She never asked her daughter where she wanted to go or do.I skipped the majority of the story which I thought was about a cat but wasn't.The ending was the best part of the story to me.

Not what I expected...
I read a LOT of books about my favorite animal--cats! While I did enjoy many of the thoughts in this book, it's not really a book about a cat named Bono. It's more of an excerpt of the authors entire life story, & Bono kitty was simple one tiny chapter of that. Sweet...but not a story about a cat.

Sad to think what the story might have been....
I had enjoyed Helen Brown's first book, Cleo, so much that I gave this, her third book, a try. At least I came into it with sympathy for the characters, and some appreciation for how she interweaves cat talk with her own personal story. But Bono fell short this time, with too little material about the cat from only a month's experience with the precious creature. She should have condensed the story into a short, pithy story about Bono, and really tried to get into the cat's head. And she could have dug a little into the health issue that brought him so low at the beginning of the story, and ended on such a high at the end. In such a context her own life lessons would have meant so much more than in this meandering, unfocused stream of consciousness. There was really a lot of cat in Cleo. There is little Bono in this book about Bono. It makes me sad, thinking of what it might have been, and of what Helen Brown's editors probably forced her into writing.

A wonderfully poignant tale
This is the first book I’ve read by Helen Brown but it won’t be the last. A really heartwarming story about a rescue cat. I laughed and I cried and I did not want to put the book down but sometimes you need to eat and sleep! An easy read with a message to live life to the fullest

Lame
Very dry . It read more like a women having a midlife crisis rather then a book about a cat . Disappointing. Didn’t finish reading the book . Boring

Another great book written by Helen
I loved this book. I first read Cleo many years ago and that was a very emotional story. I would recommend this book to any who loves cats (and animals) and who would love to rescue a cat. Thanks Helen for sharing.

Nice story but disappointing
Nice story however it takes a long time to get to the part where Bono comes into the story probably over a hundred pages. A bit disappointed
