This strikes me as a pretty useful belt, "tactical" style aside.The belt strap is reversible and the buckle has a swivel feature so it can be rotated to have either side of the belt strap facing out, depending on what color you want to match.As long as the strap is long enough to go around your waist, the belt can be adjusted to any size without the need for specific buckle holes.This is an attractive feature, as my waist size has fluctuated a lot over the past year after abdominal surgery.The end of the strap passes through the buckle, which clamps down a bridge of teeth onto the webbing to hold it fast.The end of the strap is cut & melted to prevent fraying, but the resulting sharp edges at the end were a little rougher than I'd like, so I took a lighter to re-melt the edges and give them a little softer "rounding".It says you can cut the strap shorter at the other end (which starts clamped inside the buckle), but I am not going to have any need to do so.However, this does allow you to buy a longer belt than you need and cut it down easily if necessary, later.The buckle is kind of large and heavy, it feels very substantial.

I've had several of these 'tactical' belts and this one felt much better quality esp. with the buckle. It didn't take any cutting/trimming of the belt to make it fit me and it does hold snug. The only thing I'm going to have to watch out for is the locking mechanism that only has a few 'teeth' not spanning the complete width of the belt. To me that could be a failure point if the teeth wear out. Others I've had clamp down on the entire width of the belt. But right now, I'm happy and think this also look good!
