Fun activity for children
My granddaughters had a blast making marbling pictures that I have now framed and on display. Each swirl in very bright colors.

You are to use the spoon provided for measuring.
The instructions for this kit are written for the UK, not the US, thus their form of measurement is not the US form. The instructions say to use 250 ml of water, which shows on my measuring cup and is equal to 1 cup. Then it says to stir one tablespoon of the powder into the water. One of our US tablespoon measuring spoons would take quite a bit of the powder provided, which didn't make sense. I then read reviews on this kit, saw that a person said 2 teaspoons is enough, and so I used 2 teaspoons. Once the solution sat for the required time of 6 hours, it had turned to a thick gel. The grandsons, ages 5 and 8, then squirted paint into the thick gel and swirled their designs. The two boys shared the space to make the design I've posted. The 5 yr. old's design is on the left of the paper, the 8 yr. old's the right. The 8 yr. old's design was really cool to start, but he kept swirling and swirling. There is definitely a learning curve to this. This whole project was a flop, for thick gooey gel clung to the paper as I lifted it from the tray and it took 3 days to dry! Finally, I looked at reviews from other water marble art kits and watched videos people posted, demonstrating how to do this. Their kits had pre-measured packets of powder, so I couldn't tell what the powder's measurement was, but their solution after setting for hours was runny, not a thick gel. Now, I had actually experimented after our thick-gel-art-flop that day. I measured one spoonful of powder with the spoon that is provided with this kit, stirred it into 250 ml of water, let sit overnight, and the next day it was slightly runnier than other people's solutions are in the videos I've watched. So, I am convinced that where it says in these instructions to measure one tablespoon, it is referring to the spoon they have provided, yet I'd use 1 1/2 spoons full. I have wasted a lot of this powder, unfortunately, and I have to say there is plenty of powder in this kit, when you use their spoon for the measurement. When the grandkids return, I will do this again with them the right way. It's a pretty clean project to do; you just need a place to lay your wet picture. This form of art has gotten great reviews, and I look forward to doing this with the boys again. I recommend this art kit. Five stars would be given but I have to dock them a star for such confusion in their instructions.Update: I ordered another kit from another company that had two packets of powder which makes only two batches of solution. In their instructions, they say to store the leftover solution in a water bottle in the fridge. So, with this type of art, your design will lift onto your paper and leave clear solution in the tray for the next design. The grandson here whipped-out 4 pieces of art in a row with plenty of left over solution to store in fridge. Simply pour it through a funnel into an empty water bottle, then lable the bottle, for it looks like water. Posting a picture of our solution after doing a piece of art, showing how it looks. So as for this kit, this kit has a larger variety of paint bottles than the other, the bottles are larger and contain more paint, it offers much more powder for more batches of solution, gives you more paper, but it's instructions are not as informative and helpful. If I were to reorder either kit again, now that I know how to do this art, I would reorder this one.

Did it right away!
So the box said "paint right away", but the directions say to do the prep for 4-6 hours. So I decided to prep (with warm water) and start right away. I did just enough water to cover the bottom of the pan (even a little less than that.) I just added a scoop (provided in the set) of powder and mixed it in. It doesn't really mix because gel balls form, but I broke them up a little and still went to work on the next step right away. Just drop a little bit of paint drops in the water. It will seem like it's just making colored water, but it will slowly start separating out. Just drop small drops of different paint colors and watch them separate. You can add color as you want. After a few minutes of waiting, I spread around with a tool. Then I put the paper on, and pulled out to dry on newspaper. There was a little color still in the tub, so I decided to do a 2nd picture and I began adding some more colors. Same thing: the colors separate out within minutes. I mixed them all around with another tool provided this time. I've added pictures of the initial drops, the liquid after mixing with a tool and the two final pictures brought out to dry. It's very cool! My suggestion is to skip the wait time, and get started. It was fun and my grandkids are going to love this. 1st three pics are drops, mixing, and paper. Picture 3 is adding more drops and picture 4 is the paper after I did the paint mixing. (I uploaded in order, so hopefully, they show up in order.) Obviously the powder (for gel) starts making a difference right away and helps the colors separate out anyway. I'm guessing waiting gives you more control, but little kids will like it the speed method anyway. Based on the way I did the prep, I will be able to use this kit many times. There's plenty of powder and a lot of paint for several painting sessions.

4 to 6 hour prep time
Despite the long prep time this was a fun project for the whole family. The instructions were on the light side but we tried this thanks to the hundreds of videos we have seen, it was easy to find ideas and help. For the price this is a great kit. Once the learning curve is out of the way anyone should be able to do this, but I would suggest supervision for little ones. Finally this is a water craft. Be prepared for the mess that goes with it and have a place to dry finished art.3.5 Stars: Meets Expectations but could use some improvement

Good project and it comes out nicely done
This is a good marbling kit. It has everything you need to do it. It also teaches you how to do it again in the future should you want to. I like being able to teach kids how to be creative and giving them the tools to do it. Very good set.

Very Neat Kit
This craft for kids is amazing and so much fun! My daughter loved it. I am very picky when it comes to finding crafts for her, but this one was an excellent choice. I can't imagine any kid not enjoying it. The only downside is that it can get a little messy, but that depends on the kid. My daughter is messy with pretty much everything, so I wasn't surprised or upset about it.We love painting at home and have tried making swirly designs before by watching videos. I bought a bunch of supplies to follow those videos, but it was a total fail. However, this little kit has everything you need in one package and is a much easier method. It's perfect for kids and very hands-on. Plus, it stimulates sensory play, which is another reason to love it. And it's just so much fun!You get everything you need and 25 pieces of paper with this kit. I hate when craft kits skimp on supplies, but this one definitely doesn't. I can honestly say that I highly recommend this painting kit.
