I thought it was wood but it was cast. Still it had lovely detail.

I really love gardening and decorating my yard. It's my happy place all summer long. When I'm not home, I love hiking and canoeing. I decided there must be a way to bring the hikes and canoe trips home when I'm not able to head out and enjoy mother nature. Sure enough! Add a Christmas ornament to your backyard pond!! I found several canoe ornaments from which to choose and settled on this one because it appeared to be weather proof and it looks so realistic! It has been tucked away on the edge of my pond for about 10 months now - (through a New England winter!) - and still looks great! I completed the scene with a lego tire rope swing and, as the photo below shows, the neighbors approve. Ribbit!I try to write helpful, concise reviews for all of my Amazon purchases. I know (now) that it is described as made of resin, in the small print, but I was too tired when ordering and only saw the main description of “red *wooden* canoe &oars”. It should be described as “wooden style” or “wooden look”. It was nice, but heavier than I wanted for a tree ornament and I had my heart set on a *wooden* canoe. Sent it back.

Received a partially painted single seat kayak ornament (complete with double bladed kayak paddle) instead of the canoe which I had ordered. Not only does it look quite different from the picture, it is only painted on the very top - the bottom and sides are a dull white with a gooey "Made in China" sticker. The painted area actually looks pretty decent, but it's a bit heavier than I thought it would be and seems like it might break if dropped. Now, if I had wanted a kayak, and if it had been painted completely then I could have given it at least two more stars. On the bright side, despite being the wrong item, it was well packed and it did arrive quickly...

This is a Christmas ornament with really nice details. It looks wonderful on the tree. Fast service!

Arrived broken in 2 places. The hook to hang the ornament was broken off and the ores were broken off. Also, the red paint on the canoe was chipped. VERY poorly made. Even the painting on the canoe was messy. Looked like an elementary school student made this for an art project. I was stunned when I received it. This was a gift for my brother who has a red canoe. Had to run out last minute and buy him a different Christmas gift. I’ve never been so disappointed in an Amazon purchase :(

I ordered a large number of these and some were correct (as shown), but 5 were not correct (a previous reviewer also complained about receiving a canoe ornament with a white bottom and sides, and that's the same description as the 5 incorrect ones that I received as well). See the attached picture.

this was the perfect piece I was looking for to make a Boy Scout ornament after a couple high adventure trips. Excellent quality, and a nice size. Perfect!
