A cracking little phone and a joy to use!
After owning a 5 inch touchscreen for two years which I broke accidentally, I needed an inexpensive replacement for the time being. At first, after opening the box and seeing this little phone, I was a little sceptical and didn't think I would ever adapt to the old candy bar design of old. However, after playing with it and setting up my menus, preferences etc, I was quickly beginning to realise just how much fun these phones really were! I rapidly got used to using T9 for texting and using the keys are a joy! It's great once again to actually feel that pleasant "click" when using the keypad! I have large hands and therefore thumbs, but have now mastered how to accurately type using the nicely spaced keys! The icons and display are very vivid and I only need to use 50% brightness. Unlike my previous touchscreen, I can clearly see the clock on this device whilst I am outside in the bright light! And also unlike a touchscreen phone, it has a very effective "key guard" so you can enter a password to unlock it, therefore there is no way the phone can be activated whilst in your pocket, handbag etc - I never felt this confident about my old touchscreen! You can even set a timeout so the screen locks after a chosen set time! Or you can lock the phone instantly! The battery is very impressive especially since I am a fairly heavy user. The first time I charged the device, a "fully charged" message appeared on the screen after only a couple of hours, which I now ignore. It was only when I charged it overnight that the real potential of the battery was realised. It seems the more I charge it now the more effective the battery becomes. The Opera Mini browser is pretty competent and after tinkering with the "settings" and disabling the "mobile view" mode, that sites such as BBC News, Sport look much much better and more readable. The torch at the top of the phone is surprisingly handy! Build quality is usual Nokia - excellent! In a nutshell, this is a cracking little phone and a joy to use! Ok, it is very basic compared to the high-end smart phones around now, but if you are looking for a mobile just for texting and making calls (call quality is good and clear) and viewing the odd webpage for football scores, news etc, then this is an ideal, inexpensive, and furthermore, a very good looking device!

Easy, economical and great battery life
Easy, economical and great battery life. Sim free allows one to look for the best network deals, currently I switch between 3-4 networks and save on average £20 per mnth - the phone has paid for itself so I'm back in pocket! The phone is a bit plasticey (my old one was steel) just be careful with it, I had some trouble at first connecting with my e-mail (it wouldn't recognise password), other than that a cheap, cheerful money saving device for anyone (young/old -easy set up), it has plenty of useful, basic and practical apps etc and does what it says on the box. 85% rating

I purchased this as a present for my grandmother whose previous mobile went on the blink. She was used to the Nokia non-touch interface and all she does is make calls and sends text messages. She finds the buttons easy to use and big enough that she can quite quickly type out text messages. The ringer is loud and clear and she has had no issues with clarity of the earpiece or microphone.Simply put, this is a solidly built, easy to operate 'dumb' phone. It just does the job and works.

A Little Disappointed.....:(
Like another customer mentioned, I expected more. I've always liked Nokia's longevity and durability so I thought this purchase would be a sure thing, but I was disappointed in all honesty. Sure it does what I need, text and call (since I'm not bothered about all that other jazz with music, apps, games, internet etc) but at the same time it doesn't really do what I call basic things I thought it would. The memory space of the phone is very minimal. I didn't realise this until I took 3 photos and an notification came up, telling me it was full. This didn't bother me so much because I didn't get it for that, but I also discovered that if I have 2 draft texts and I write and send a 3rd, one of the draft texts disappear without notification. Again I'm guessing to make space. I know you can of course buy another memory card to help this, I just wasn't expecting to because all the other Nokia phones I had for this price or less have had enough memory for those simple things. There is no 'sent box' which I miss. It's just write a message and that's it. In retrospect I would have bought a cheaper phone because the majority of the applications on the MN 222 phone I don't use and in my opinion it's probably worth no more than £17.00 like: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nokia-Mobile-Phone-Free-Unlocked/dp/B00DBWI2E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454402993&sr=8-1&keywords=nokia+phone+cheap.

All in all this mobile phone is functional and easy to use
All in all this mobile phone is functional and easy to use. Designed to people who need practicality and minimal access to internet that is very basic. Battery lasts for days like every other classic Nokia. Phones camera is nothing spectacular, but it can still take pictures. I found LED torch very useful too.Only down point I found is that language settings are very poor. So if you are eastern European you will not find any of these languages: Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Serbian group languages, Hungarian, Macedonian, Bulgarian or Greek. Only one present is Romanian, so if you can understand it you are lucky. Also Norwegian, Swedish and Finish languages are not present too.

Does the trick perfectly - bought as a replacement phone for my pensioner mother who wants a simple text and call phone with buttons on the front. Very good value for money and easy to use.

Great little phone!
This is a great little phone. Does everything I need, phone calls, text messages, alarm clock and the odd photo. It feels nice in the hand too. Sadly, my phone developed a fault after three months use but Amazon Customer Services excelled themselves and sent me a replacement within a day. Well done Amazon!
