INCREDIBLE VALUE FOR THE MONEY!
The media could not be loaded. I got my feet wet about a year ago with CNC machines buying a 3018 made by this company. About 3 months later I purchased another and then upgraded one to a 3040. I did upgrade the spindles on those machines to 800 Watts but wanted something stronger so I purchased a 1.5 KW spindle. After purchasing, I was uncomfortable putting it on either of my existing machines and I kept looking for a 3040. Then I came across this 4040 machine by Lunyee and had a good feeling given my prior experience and support. This machine is amazing and my video does not do it justice. I particularly wanted something that was not belt driven and this meets that criteria also it is a little larger than a 3040 and is about as large as I can handle.Assembling this machine is not difficult for one person other than the sheer weight. It went together smoothly and I had it working quickly. I have not even calibrated it yet but not even sure it needs any calibration as all engraving work I have done so far looks exceptional. It runs almost twice as fast as my 3018 machines and that is with the supplied 500 watt spindle (I have a 1.5KW spindle on hand that I am sure it will handle with ease).Lunyee took some extra time designing this machine as the base remains stable which limits debris getting under it. The top that runs the X axis is well covered to limit debris getting in there and the travel of over 4 inches for the Z axis makes life so much easier. This machine was so well thought out! It runs on GRBL which I wanted as I am too old to try to learn anything else. Oh, did I mention how well it was calibrated before shipping. I have only had it a couple of days and am so pleased with it.For the little bit extra the machine costs versus a 3018, it is senseless to go any other direction to get started if you are interested in learning about a CNC machine. The extra working area provides so much more versatility with what can be made plus accommodating clamps for the work more easily than struggling with the small platform of a 3018.THIS MACHINE IS A GREAT VALUE and, if you keep in mind that support is based overseas, they are incredibly supportive!UPDATE AFTER RUNNING DAILY FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. This machine continues to impress me. I have not yet changed the spindle out as I had planned, in part because of how well the 500 watt one keeps working. I have to add that I really like that the base does not move as the Y axis moves within the same setup as the X axis. The moving parts are incredibly protected from debris compared to other similar machines on the market. The Z axis movement is significantly higher than similar machines which makes changing bits much easier and provides more ability to work with longer bits. The machine has not missed a beat and is allowing me to complete my tasks by itself faster than I was able to do with two 3018 machines. Finally the additional workspace allows me much more freedom for clamping material down! Now the downside ... OOPS I have not found a downside to this machine! THANK YOU LUNYEE FOR COMING UP WITH SUCH A WELL THOUGHT OUT CNC MACHINE!

Just The Right Size
Needed a CNC router to cut out various wooden bases. The cheaper units are too small. Could use a lager bed at times but then it would be too big most of the time. The all metal construction is a must.
