I just got my new steamer a few days ago but I am really enjoying it. The instructions are easy to understand and are more comprehensive than my old steamer that only lasted a little over a year before it malfunctioned. This steamer has no heater element sticking up into the water, its heating element is under the water and the water reservoir is flat on the bottom. The oil drip catcher has hollow column that extends down to surround the heater element and contain the steam. The digital number are big although a little hard to see unless you are looking straight at them. Taking all the parts apart straight out of the box is a little challenging: the tiers are tightly packed together and the top and bottom one are wrapped in plastic, and each one is in so tight that it has to be loosened in a symmetrical pattern around the edge, and it takes a while for the tiers to even begin to come loose. Once you have read the instructions that come with the steamer it takes a little practice to learn how to use it.

It doesn't work, at all. Nothing shows on the display, the buttons do nothing, and it doesn't heat at all. It is nothing more than a paper weight. Perhaps some of them work, but if you buy this then you are taking a big risk because there is a good chance that it will not work at all. I plug it in and it does nothing but light up the buttons and some of the LED's, but will not respond to any input whatsoever.

This steamer took forever to steam my food. It would work for fish maybe or other seafood but not fresh vegetables. It just did not put out alot of steam. It does not deserve the 5 star review that prompted me to buy this product.
