After their explosion onto the scene in the ‘80s, cube puzzles have never completely gone away, but they’re definitely not as ubiquitous as they once were, and many kids now have never played with one. The snake puzzle, however, all but disappeared and I’d venture to say *most* kids have never touched one. Of the two, the snake is much easier to figure out — there’s no right or wrong answer, and individual designs are usually easy to copy. While the cube can lead to frustration in those of us who always like things to line up, the snake is just one of the best fidget toys I’ve ever encountered.This pack of toys includes a dozen of each. The snakes come in three different color schemes (four of each), and they operate incredibly smoothly. They took a lot of abuse while I worked out how to rebuild my favorite shapes from an era ago, and they didn’t show any signs of strain while I did so. They are a nice size to work with and fit easily into a pocket (an advantage over the larger original snake design of the 1980s).The cubes are all identical, and their quality isn’t as great — the component cubes are obviously hollow, and they’re open-sided except on the surface. It sometimes took a little wiggling to get it to turn smoothly. And they didn’t bother with color on one side — like the original ‘80s cube design, there is a white face, but whereas the original cube was black with stickers, this one is just white all over with printed colors on each side. So the white side looks like they forgot one of the colors. I am sorely tempted to color it with permanent markers just to make it look finished. Considering how mass-produced these are, it doesn’t even feel like you’re getting a bargain for the price. I feel like it would be more worth it if this was JUST the snakes (which I realize is psychologically backwards).Nevertheless, these will make great stocking-stuffers (for nostalgic adults as well as curious kids) or would also do as party favors.

These were a hit on my son bday.Not your typical boring favors.Fun for all, size is appropriate for favors, great quality, bright colors. Great price.

I used these as return gifts for my son's 10th birthday. The kids loved it ❤️. They are good material and none of them broke. Well made and good variety.
