Such a fun tool for my 8 year old on his ninth ...
Such a fun tool for my 8 year old on his ninth birthday and for the rest of the ball players in my family! One down side might be that after you've measured your speed you put the thing down and not touch it for months...but it has been a great tool and great fun for us.

My 9-year old grandson absolutely loved this baseball! It performed as it was stated and he was "king of the mound" as he increased his speed and coordination with practice. He was so happy and excited to received this baseball as a gift from his "Nanny".

GREAT FUN FOR PITCHERS TO GET THEIR THROWING SPEED!!
After winning the District 42 intermediate Championship (Eastlake 19 CVA 2), my Son and I went to the park to let loose with some fastballs. This fun speed sensing baseball allows a player to get a somewhat accurate measurement of how fast they are really throwing.The ball must be thrown from a known distance, in our case 50 feet for Intermediate pitchers.Warming up was 33 to 38 m.p.h. First pitch 65 m.p.h. for my Son "JD", and my throw at 51 m.p.h.The button was very stiff and the instructions didnt say how to hold the ball which must be held in a specific manner to get consistant functionalty.Once you get the grip it is a lot of fun to throw!!!

Lasted Less Than A Day!
As soon as it hit the ground from a low pitch, it stopped working! Very fragile ball and not worth the money! I would not recommend buying this ball for anyone younger than 15 years old, and even then, take a few pitches and then don't use it often.
