Stopped my smoker from leaking smoke almost instantly! They are easy to install but need to sit for a few days before it fully settles down for a nice seal. But they work great and the length is more than enough! Used on a big Pit Boss XL Smoker that's really long.

Works well. Take your time cleaning surface and applying the gasket. Can be readjusted during installation.

The media could not be loaded. I've owned a large BGE for 23 years and find myself replacing the gasket every two years. I've tried various high-quality, felt-type gaskets, and no matter what, they tend to compress, get saturated with dirt and grease, and begin to fail. I saw this mesh gasket and figured, what do I have to lose? I'm replacing it every other year, so I'll be pleased if I get 2+ years out of this gasket. I'm impressed with the quality. I've done two cooks, one high heat and the other was a low temp smoke. The gasket did its job and held up well. I think I can easily clean up spills from this one. Whereas the felt gaskets, I'm screwed. I would have given it five stars but deducted one for not including instructions. It's a similar installation process to all other gasket types, but they included these unique tape wraps for the seams so the ends don't fray. It took me some YouTube searching to find a video showing how those work. The gasket is also very cushy; it turned my lid into a soft-close lid. I can drop it from several inches without worry. That's handy if I get a surprise flashback and I have to move my hand quickly.

Easy to install and works prefect

This gasket is Perfect for Sealing a BBQ smoker! I have a cheaper BBQ smoker and unfortunately they are prone to have gaps and openings where the smoke will come out. I found these and wanted to try them out to seal my Royal Gourmet grill hopefully. The adhesive is extremely strong and holds easily on the grill.I added these strips along the grill and mostly where there are gaps and i must say it works great! They really seal up the gaps nicely and tightly. Be sure to place them correctly so it will not burn off or where it will be exposed to direct heat or anything. It will not cover 100% but it is now probably 90% covered because the grill has many gaps that wont be able to be covered. It works great because I have so much less smoke loss and it is easier to maintain temperatures now with this.I would highly recommend these strips for you smoker, it will cover those gaps easily!

This is the second gasket that I've installed on my Kamado Joe Big Joe. The factory original gasket never sealed tightly even after playing with the hinge to try and align the lid. I replaced it with another gasket that was the same material, but a little thicker and it's lasted for several years. It sadly was starting to leak again so I started searching for a new replacement. I was pleasantly surprised to find this product, it's identical to the gasket that all the new Kamados are shipping with now. I used a razor blade to remove the old gasket material, cleaned the surface thoroughly with Goo Gone and then gave it a deep clean with rubbing alcohol to make sure the surface was properly prepared. After the surface was fully dried I started to install the gasket. The first step was to install the adhesive joiner at the back of the kamado. Once it was down, I put one end down and slowly worked my way around peeling the backing off. As I got closer to the end, I cut the gasket with some sharp scissors and finished the installation by wrapping the adhesive joiner around both ends. The finished product looks fantastic and I'm no longer envious of the new Kamado Joes! Thanks for making such a great product to help us old Kamado Joe owners extend the useful life of our BBQs!

I have an old large BGE, grate measures 18". My old seals were old, toast, completely crusty and smoke always seeped out of the edge. The instructions that come with this kit are pretty straight forward. Scrape off the old gasket, sand and degrease the edge, let it dry, then tape on the new one. There is a special piece of tape for where the two ends meet back up, watch the manufacturer video to do that properly. This gasket is definitely "fuller" than the old one that was more like a flat pad, so I used a dumbbell to help hold the lid down while the tape bonded.One difference between BGE and KJ...the BGE lid sort of drops behind the base of the BGE, so it's really tricky to change the upper gasket without taking the lid off. Since I didn't feel like that and the bottom gasket was already so full, I just did the bottom. Going to cook with it a few times before I make any modifications, but chances are I might need to take the ring and lid off, put on the new gasket, then realign the ring and hinges to fit the thicker gasket. Since that's a total pain to do, I'm just leaving the bottom one on for now until I have a reason to do otherwise.The quality of this thing really is great and it's a lot cheaper than BGE branded products. Definitely give it a shot for your egg!!!

I used this on my Big Joe 3 and it's held so far. I recommend.I assume this will be a every year or every other yr type of replacement depending on your cooking habits.
