Nice fit
This bladder fit perfectly on my little giant some pump. Very easy to change and my pump is up and running

Simple to install
I only have praise for this type of pump sensor switch. Last one lasted 10+ years, despite the fact that I always left it and the pump outside. The float type sensors are ok if you have a large enough sized underground water collector. If you do not, expect the float to get stuck part way up and never turn on the pump. You know how that ends.

Works fine - got me thru Hurricane Sandy!
I found that the original switch on my sump pump was not switching off so I needed to make a call to replace the switch or replace the entire unit. My basement flooded during Irene - so I knew I was in danger of that happening again and didn't want to take any chances. I replace the switch, tested it and all has been well - but I did get a generator and spare battery for the backup pump as in a power outage it doesn't matter if the pump is working when you have no power ... and then Sandy hit. Boy was I glad. The switch, and the pump, worked flawlessly all thru the rain and the snowmelt from the following storm. This was much cheaper than a new pump. Very easy to fit (2 screws) and could actually be used to operate dual-pumps if you had that setup to handle very large volumes, or wanted the redundancy. Be aware that it needs a decent head of water before it activates - I needed to pour 15-20 gallons into the sump before it triggered - seems to need 8-10 inches of head. This is actually a good thing - pumps have a longer life if they have a longer cycle time - better to run for 30 seconds an hour than 10 seconds 3 times an hour. Just don't think it's not working if you have a foot of water in your sump and it's still not on - the footer and mounting will take 4-5 inches.

Replaced a troublesome float switch on my sump pump. After a few weeks of use it has been working like a champ.

Product does not function exactly as described
My initial review (4-2012): When the switch works, it works great. Problem is, it doesn't function exactly as described. The description states ""on" level range is 6" - 9", "off" level range is 1" - 4". It cuts off at 2", BUT it doesn't cut on until 12" of water accumulate, and that is in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Used as a pump for siphoning rain water off of a pool cover, which is the ONLY reason I bought it, IT NEVER TURNS ON. So in my opinion, IT FAILS MISERABLY. It is easier (and cheaper) to operate it manually!I called their customer service within a week or two of this review (forgot about this review until now 1-2013) and related the problem. They were very polite and kindly sent out a low level switch free of charge. Easily replaced it myself. It now cuts on at a much lower water level (approx 1-2"). It has operated flawlessly since then, cold weather, warm weather, dirty rain water or clean. It is extremely well constructed and sturdy for such a small inexpensive pump. I am very happy with this pump!

Peace of mind!
Peace of mind...thats all I can say...and so far so good! Previously, I had a float switch that would more often than not get "hung up" rendering the pump rather useless and during summer rainfalls I would wind up wading through the the water to jiggle the float witch so that it would activate. I've now had the piggyback switch in place for a couple of months with some fairly steady rainfall and I kept going outside to look for the pooling of water to see if it was working. I was always too late to find any pooling of water or catch the pump in action. This switch has been so reliable: on at about 9" water depth and off at about 4" water depth just like it says I the brochure. So, no more pooling of water. Just stealth and reliability. What a relief!

Works well, but has some design defects
Works well enough... But has some easy to fix design defects that are so glaring it's strange they were not caught before!First, the pros: looks good and solid enough, works very well: starts and stops the water at about the expected levels. But, there are two cons: first, plastic construction is very light: so light in fact that it floats in the water and does not sink to the bottom! So I can't just lower it down and have it sit at the bottom of the sump well, but rather have to place a brick on it to keep it down. Can't believe the company could not attach a small metal weight to weigh it down! Second con is lack of any way to test it: my old diaphragm switch has a small button I could push to test it, but not this guy.So, I am keeping it, but 2 very small things could have made me a lot happier! Minus 1 star for each of them.

Quick problem solver
When my regular sump pump quit working because it froze outside, I needed to quickly switch to a smaller pump inside. I was having trouble with one of those float switches that everyone sells. They don't work in tight spaces. This Piggyback diaphragm switch does the trick. I mounted it on a piece of 1x2, put it in the sump hole, plugged in my pump, and my problem was solved. It is nice and small so you don't need any more room than the size of the switch itself which is about 4x6x1. And mounting it on the 1x2 makes it portable. After a few days when the water quit coming in, all I had to do was pull the 1x2 out and cover up the hole. No plumbing or even bending over. If the water starts in the spring before it thaws outside, it will install in seconds.

Great automatic switch for my sump pump!
This took a bit of fiddling, but after proper setup it is the perfect replacement for the non-functional float switch on my sump pump. Keep in mind is this is a pressure differential switch. The water level will be reduced by approximately 7" or 175 mm when the switch turns on the pump. The lower down in the sump you affix the switch, the lower the levels will stay. I have it about 4" (100 mm) above the bottom of my sump, and this switch consistently keeps the water level between 2" (50 mm) and 10" (250 mm). It starts my pump automatically whenever the water reaches that ~10" mark, and pumps down to ~2-3". There is always water in the bottom of my sump, so the pump doesn't ever start dry. I was concerned about the cost of this switch, but I am very happy with my purchase. It has been running flawlessly since November.

does what it has to
Had a first switch die out after 7 years of service (removing it for winter), with water infiltrating into the chamber (I am guessing there should not be water there). 4 stars out of 5 because could have lasted longer - the pump itself is still running...
