Every mandoline slicer that I have had in the past has been made of white plastic. And it never fails that after a year, or so, the white plastic gets stained orange from carrots, or gets these little scratches all over the surface and then vegetable matter gets stuck in the scratches.Finally, I found this stainless steel mandoline slicer and I really like the way it cleans up with no stains or scratches. Al the parts of the mandoline fit together well and function very smoothly. The blades are all razor sharp, as they should be. The plastic that is on the slicer wheel is black. The other thing I really like is that I don't have to store all the different blades separately. All the blades are on the slicer wheel, which also comes out for easy cleaning.The dial on the side, makes it easy to switch from slices to julienne by just turning the dial. that is pretty clever and so far has worked well for me.

This has been great to have in the kitchen, allowing me to try different recipes than I would normally. It has an easy set and is easy to use, but always be mindful of the blade. The blade is super sharp; I have yet to sharpen it. I suggest using the item holder to help slice things because it adds an extra layer of safety but still be mindful of the placement of your fingers on it. It is easy to clean and store away. It is well made, and I will have it for years.

Finally a slicer that is all metal, has super sharp cutting blades, has a dial for slicing or julienne cutting and folds flat for easy storage. This one sits flat on the counter, doesn't slide around and the dial makes getting paper thin slices to nice, fat, thick slices easy.

I have had a couple of different styles of mandolin slicers over the years and this X Home slicer is the best one I have owned so far. Previous slicers had removeable blades that you had to keep track of and were awkward to install. The X Home has a dial adjuster to select the thickness of the slices you want. In addition to slicing, you also have the choice two julienne sizes. When making julienne slices, the adjuster knob locks into place to prevent the blade from slipping.The rubber feet on the built-in stand keeps the slicer from moving when using. Slices do collect quickly under the unit and have to be removed frequently if slicing a large amount of food. This is probably the biggest negative thing I found about the slicer. The other is that the vegetable holder is somewhat difficult to use. However, I have found this to be true of all the mandolin slicers I have owned.Clean-up is breeze. The stainless-steel is easy to wash and the adjuster/julienne assembly lifts out for cleaning. When washing by hand, you do have to be cautious of the blades. If you choose, you can place the mandolin slicer into the dishwasher. However, I have found that this causes cutting devices like this to prematurely dull and discolor.Overall, this is a great mandolin slicer that will save you time and meal prep easier. Highly recommended.

I ordered the X Home Kitchen Stainless Steel Mandoline Slicer. This is a really neat kitchen cutting tool! It can both slice and shred vegetables. I like that it is stainless steel construction--seems very sturdy and solid. Stable legs. The blades are sharp, so obviously use caution when handling. It has a turn dial for you to select the thickness of the slice or julienne that you want. I like that you do not have to handle the cutting blades at all when making your selection. It is all built in. Very nice feature! You also do not have to store various cutting blades. I also like the small compact footprint that this takes up for storage with its foldable legs. It comes with a food pushing tool and a toothbrush-esque cleaning tool. I think this is going to be way more convenient to use than my food processor with all of its accessories. I really like its well-thought-out design and simplicity.
