Works great for the home auto DIY enthusiast
Easily handled the springs on my front of my Ram 1500. Needed to compress them about 2" more to install my new Bilstein struts than it was to relieve pressure on the old stock struts, and it was easy to do. Also much easier to use than my old style spring compressor, adjusting everything was much faster. Lastly, also felt more sturdy and safer than the older design. Great value for the person who occasionally needs to compress automotive springs.

No worries while working.
These are great, well worth the money. Once mounted to the spring properly they are not going anywhere. These are not going to fly off and hit you in the face. Stout enough to use a battery gun to tighten and remove.

The best compressor I've used so far
Just used these to do the front struts for a 2012 Mustang. Compared to the simple hook-type I've used before, these take a bit more time to set up... but once installed, they are a lot more secure. They rely on the screw only for compression while any bending stresses are taken up by the large outer tubes, so they stay straight and are probably less likely to fail. They don't try to 'walk around' the spring.Very glad I got them.

Easy to use solid compressor tool
Save money if you only need to swap out the shocks. Good solid steel construction with smooth threads to compress and uncompress the springs. The top section is a half a hook that gets place around top area of the spring while the bottom hook gets placed around the lower part of the coil. Then there is a cap that comes down and gets tightened with a set nut so that the bottom hook covers that entire coil section thereby not having to worry about the tool jumping off the spring at any point. The left and right tool then has a horizontal bar that goes across there by not having and wiggle room to release outwards to the side or rotate towards/away from you. Suggest keeping a light coat of oil or water displacing lubricant along the threads to keep it protection from the elements.

Great kit
Just what i needed to swap struts. The kit is complete and far safer than the other style compressor available at the parts store for rent. These jobs don't come up often, but having the right tool on hand will save you time and money. Every aspect of the tool is well built. I didn't worry about the tools slipping off the springs. The clearance for access to the springs on the strut i are great too. Only the springs were touched.
