Yes, They block out loudness from the outside. The sounds of car alarms, noisy parties, sirens, and traffic are all muted, if your partner snores, it can drown it out. What's more, it improve concentrate on work and study!

Yes! Press the timer button to set the timer between 30, 60, 90 minutes auto-off and continuous playing. (Continuous mode is indicated when all timer indicator lights are off).

Q: I wanted to know if this machine itself is loud? I need quiet and darkness is this a good choice?

I'm not sure I 100% know what your question is asking so I will do my best to answer. First, this will do nothing for darkness obviously. The machine has 2 buttons to control volume and I found that it can get very quiet all the way up to very loud in small increments. It remembers your volume even if you turn it off and back on (including if you unplug it). I found that the looping is seamless and doesn't have a fade-in/fade-out in the loop. So is it loud: It can be very quiet to very loud and anywhere in between. I hope this helps!
