Price VS usability
This tablet is very cheap, so cheap in fact that the deal seems abit unbelievable, buying some parts would likely cost the consumer more. However when using this I can see why the price is low, it's just so slow and underpowered that it hasnt really got a place as a main device.Setup was slow and sometimes unresponsive as it loads.I wouldn't even try games on thisSound is okay and network speed seems to be fine so I was able to slowly browse the web and watch YouTube videos on it.Screen looks fine and everything is clear to read.I think this has its place if you need something cheap to do minimal tasks and not be concerned if it broke. Such as just browsing the web, having something in the kitchen to look at recipes, a small screen to watch TV in the bath or maybe field employee tablet to record incidents.Could also be okay to video call someone, so maybe a gift for an elderly person to allow them to do this or something to give a child to allow them to talk without handing over your main device. The camera is bad but not the worst to ever have been on a handheld.Whatever you do with it, the price tag is there for a reason, so don't expect much performance with this, there is a big between how this runs compared to a flagship phone... Even one that's 5+years old

Painfully slow
To be honest I wasn't expecting much, and I was right. Just the process of initial setup was painfully slow to the point that I thought it was broken it took so long to respond to taps. I just can't imagine it being any practical use to anyone. I have no idea how anyone could put up with such laggy, slow performance.

It is very cheap but it's brutally slow
For forty quid I was surprised how well put together this tablet is. It's solid, feels good to hold and doesn't look like it's made from cheap materials.Unfortunately the positives end there. I honestly thought it had went into a boot loop when doing the initial registration. It's a slow process at the best of times but this was painful. The screen looks reasonable for the price and the touch was sensitive enough but even on simple things like Web browsing it was jerky and stuttering as you scrolled.I didn't even try a game or anything more taxing.Watching You tube it was acceptable and the sound was actually OK.I have given this a very generous three stars as I applaud the fact the are giving you a tablet for £40 but so many compromises must be made that maybe they shouldn't have bothered. This may have specific uses though, maybe if you just had a memory card full of movies it might be an option but for me it was not a good user experience even taking into account the price.

A slow, laggy and frustrating experience
Woah - Slow down! A 7” Android tablet for forty quid? Surely that’s not possible. There must have been quite a few corners cut in order to be able to retail at this price. Well, let’s dive in and have a look….First thing’s first, this comes from a non-standard seller - Baken. I suspect that ‘Baken’ is most probably the Chinese distributor. As with a lot of these type of cheap products found on Amazon, the actual product is centrally produced in a factory somewhere in China. These are then purchased a labelled by various different distributors. I suspect that it might well be possible to find the same tablet dotted around with different names printed on them. The box that it comes in is a bit of a giveaway to this and while the back of the tablet has the Baken branding on it, the box is a simple brown cardboard box and completely brand free.Coming in at 7”, this tablet either works for you, or it doesn’t….if that makes sense? Some people will want a small and pocketable device. This certainly ticks that box and it’s not much bigger than some of the largest smartphones that are available. If you’re of advancing years and suffer with poor eyesight, they you may want to consider looking for a larger tablet - possibly a 9” or even 11”. The screen has a massive bezel around it. Another pretty antiquated feature in the days where tablets now have, pretty much, edge to edge screens.Set up was a relatively lengthy process. After adding my wifi password in, the software hung around for quite a while on a ‘getting your device ready’ screen. I suspect that it might have been downloading and installing the latest Android firmware. In terms of specifications, you’re going to be getting the bare minimum at this price point. For a starter, you get 4gb of ram. This is actually on a par with some of the higher end tablets that are available - The older iPads had 4gb ram in them and some Samsung tablets still do. With newer iPads, you are looking at 8gb to 16gb as standard these days. Less ram does mean that your tablet will struggle when pushed with multitasking or power hungry apps. With a lot of these tablets, I suspect that you will start to suffer from lag and slow down quite quickly. If I’m honest, it’s a bit laggy from the get go. Even when typing my wifi password in, I experienced some lag on the keyboard. When typing in my Google login details, I experienced nearly a second of lag. Pretty frustrating. Once I’d inputted my username and password, the loading screen whirred and whirred and whirred and whirred. Not my wifi, as everything was working perfectly fine on my IOS devices. I left it to go and pick my little boy up from school. Once finally into the operating system, I found that load times were very low. Using the pre-installed Google Chrome app, the load times on webpages were quite frustrating. It took about 6 seconds to load Amazon’s homepage from a Google search, as opposed to around a second on my iPhone. You get a dual camera (one on the front and one on the back). This will allow you to, not only take pictures, but also carry out video calls. Don’t expect great quality calls or pictures and you won’t be disappointed. What you get is pretty grainy images that can’t cope in anything but the best light. The cameras are 0.3mb and 2mb - this really is the rock bottom end of picture quality. Nothing to be surprised about, though, at this price point. The screen isn’t great. It does the job, but don’t expect deep blacks and high definition quality. The whole thing is a little washed out. Again though, don’t expect much more for fourty quid. I did notice that it came with a pre-attached screen saver. A nice touch, although it does make the screen feel quite grainy. In terms of storage, you get 32gb. Again, this really is at the lowest end of storage capacity these days. Once you take the pre-loaded operating system into consideration and all of the bloatware apps, you won’t be left with much internal storage. Luckily, the storage can be expanded by up to 1tb with an SD card. The slot for the SD card can be found on the top of the device, along with the USB C charging input and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right hand side of the tablet (when holding it in portrait), you will find the on/off button and a volume rocket button.Overall, this was a pretty underwhelming, laggy and frustrating experience. YouTube was unwatchable and it wasn’t my internet speed, which is fibre and pretty fast. It’s just that this device is very low spec and this reflects in the usability. Spend a bit more and get better.
