You will feel like a viking
A good mead if you are a first time buyer of mead I'd recommend this one very easy to fall in love with this one its got a strong honey taste not too powerful goes down fast so pace yourself it will get you drunk if you drink enough of it but you buy mead to enjoy it definitely when you pour it into your favourite viking horn I always buy 2 bottles every now and then as like a treat and it never disappoints the price for this is unreal as well you would think its worth more but its cheap don't just take my word for it buy a bottle and see for yourself

High sugar content, but delicious
First off, this mead smells like honey and it tastes like honey (though you need a good gulp to get the full flavour, not a tiny timid sip). It's really good stuff. However, having such an authentic honey taste means there must be a lot of unfermented honey / sugar content remaining in the liquid after brewing (or being added back afterwards). This is fine, and gives it the great flavour it has, but it will dramatically increase the calorie content (likely over 1000kcal bottle). Plus the high sugar content may dampen down the alcohol / warming effect somewhat, and be otherwise unhealthy, if you drink it in large quantities. That said, this is a great mead. I definitely recommend this drink, but drinking it in small amounts is the way to go - as a dessert wine (as it's intended), or an occasional tipple, or just the one glass amongst other drinks. I really DON'T recommended drinking a whole bottle of this stuff (or even half) in one sitting! Still, 5 stars, it's a lovely drink, and it's worth the price in my opinion.

Great flavour
Great flavour, if you have never had mead before. Try this you won't be disappointed.

Delicious but perhaps a little weak
This is my regular mead these days. I really do enjoy the taste; just enough honey without being overpowering, warm and comfortable. I recommend it to everyone. There is but one "problem", and that is that it doesn't get me properly drunk, which implies that it is probably a little weak on the alcohol content. I'm writing this having just drank a whole bottle by myself over the course of maybe 4 hours, and whilst I know that I am tipsy, the effects are little more than that warm cozy head feeling. You can probably see that I'm having no trouble writing. Honestly, I'm pretty sure that I would technically be safe to drive right now - functional enough at least to pass the informal "nose-tap" and "backwards alphabet" tests - (though I would never attempt driving, I'm clearly over the limit, don't drink and drive - if I even have a whiff of alcohol I don't touch my keys, and that means I never even consider picking them up when I'm actually drunk). The label says "14.5% vol.", and I'm just not sure that's the whole picture, unless it's normal to be unimpeded by a full bottle of mead in four hours. By contrast, Moniack mead (label says "14.6% vol. alc.") leaves me far drunker than I am now after a full bottle. After a full bottle of that, I could tell that I was certainly inebriated. I don't drink that often simply because I much prefer the taste of Lyme Bay's offerings. The point being, if you're planning to bring out the meadbenches at your feast, you'll need many a bottle of Lyme Bay's mead to meet your obligations as host for guest-sozzledness. If you're just drinking it yourself at home, it is more than good enough. Definitely at least give it a go. I've also tried the Rhubarb flavour one, and that is equally as good, but has the same downside.

The most replenished stock on my booze shelf.
Until I first bought this, several bottles ago, I'd never tried mead. I'm an avid fantasy/historical novel reader and mead comes up a lot so I figured I best try it after all these years (decades!). Holy cow. I'm a late bloomer, I've missed out, what was I thinking? ! My first sniff was a bit underwhelming as it smelt like wine and I don't like wine, I don't even like beer/ale I'm more of a spirits or alcoholic ginger beer kinda lass. At the first sip or three I was a bit dubious as I could taste similarities to wine, but then the full flavour and aftertaste came through. I LOVE it, totally hooked. I adore honey and the taste here is honey filled. I sip it and roll it over my tongue which I don't do with many spirits besides whiskey sour. It's a sweeter drink than my usual taste but I keep coming back for more. I now buy bottles to fill a decanter that that is sentimental to me and sits on my dining table in my budding library/dining room and I drink it from small matching goblets as soon as cocktail hour hits. I know I need to branch out from this one and try others but at present I'm still basking in my new discovery ๐ I've also learned an old friend actually owns a meadery so my mead journey has just begun. Anyway, if you've never tried mead, this is a good place to start, I heartily recommend it.

Premium quality mead!
Having never tried any kind of mead before... wow! Not a wine drinker so wasn't sure what to expect. First impressions are great, smells strong and at first the alcohol strength is there but quickly melts to a moreish, deep honey taste. This is very sweet but I love sweet so I love it. This is a premium mead and I will definitely be buying more. If you're thinking about buying this, do it!
