You cannot beat the value of this filter. You get so much for the price and it works great. I've been using this in my discus tank for about a month with no issues, and knowing how sensitive those fish can be, you know this stuff is gold. I also prerinsed prior to installing and there was no dye bleeding or any noticeable contaminants or odors. One small drawback is that this definitely runs thinner than what you might get in a fish store, but for how cheap it is, you could double or triple it in layers and it would still be a better value. Highly recommend.

I purchased this because I wanted to enhance the filtration in a new aquarium. I used aquarium sand, and I wanted to filter out some of the silt in the water. This material was thing enough that I could cut it to size to fit into my aquarium filter. It does seem to have helped, but I will admit, I didn't have a proper control group so it might be in my imagination. That being said, the filter was rather dirty when I pulled it out, so it does seem to have worked.

I was delivered a small batch of very thin green and a separate small folded batch of very thin white material. It's slightly thicker then felt. It's definitely not in a roll like the picture. It's so thin I can't imagine it will work very well.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve typically used batting in my skimmer to catch the smaller particles that my filtration systems miss. I saw this filter pad online and liked the fact that it is reusable, where the batting I was using I threw it away practically every day . These pads you just hose them off to reuse. It has a tighter weave to it as well. When I ordered it, it looked as though it was a single piece however, when it was delivered, it was in fact two separate pieces, one with a green front white back and the other solid white. Each piece measures 12” x 47”. I cut both pieces in half to use within my skimmer so I could overlap the two. The two pieces actually worked out better for my needs. Within an hour, there was already fine debris collecting on the padding. This will help in my maintenance as I will not have to pull the main filter pad which protects the pump as often. Take a look at my photos to see how much debris it collected throughout the day. Economical solution for those fine particles that cloud your pond water.

I'm using this happily in my freshwater aquarium filter as disposable filter media but it's really not what I expected from the photos. You're receiving two sheets of cotton filter media, one in green and the other in white. They aren't actually different porosities or even bonded together. This eliminates the normal use case where you want decreasing porosity in your filter media layers as the water passes through, eventually ending with some basic filter floss that polishes the water clean and you can treat as disposable.That said, this means what you're actually getting is just 2x sheets of basic medium porosity filter media in two different colors.

This is my review of Maqihan’s Pond Filter MediaThe material works and comes in two sheets that you can cut to fit your aquarium or pond filter box.I have a series of Koi ponds and two skimmer filter boxes. This material, after cutting, fit the boxes perfectly, and successfully filters out suspended particles, dropped leaves, and other things.Once it gets full of dirt, you simply take it out and clean it off with a common garden hose. It is as simple as that. Based on similar products that I have used it should work about six months or more before needing replacement.Good product, great price.

This filter material does the job but wasn't quite wide enough for my filter.

I recently purchased a home with a small outdoor pond and quickly learned that filtering is a serious chore and you require serious supplies to keep your pond ecosystem healthy if you are raising non-native fish species. I have tried a couple different filter mediums, but due to the unusual shape of my filter basin nothing every really seems to fit right to control water flow properly. This material was an absolute win because it comes in a sheet and I can cut it down to the size I need! I could tell the difference moving from the former homeowners cheap filters to this properly sized and layered filtering and with a couple changes and some algae eater my pond started to clear up fairly quickly.
