Slow, Low-res, and only 4GB of RAM
Let's get the good out of the way. The device is reasonably thin and light, while still feeling reasonably solid. The back is a textured plastic that feels a bit cheap, but is easy to grip. Battery life seems good. Initial setup was mostly painless (though I did have to go through their welcome wizard twice before the Play Store would work), and it's mostly a stock Android experience (though it does have a few random apps install that don't show up on the app list, for example "Digital Wellbeing").But there's a lot of bad here. Starting with the obvious, a 1280x800 screen doesn't look good. It's not unusable, and the screen door is minimal, but it's a constant reminder that this is a very low-end device. But you will also feel that as this tablet is slow. It's an 8-core processor from 2021 (though only two of those cores are the more powerful Cortex A75), but evidently that's not good enough as everything feels sluggish. It's faster than my 2017 Amazon Fire HD10 in benchmarks, but that's really not saying much. For example in 3DMark's Sling Shot benchmark it handily beats the old Fire tablet (1400 to 800) but any modern flagship phone will score 10,000+ on that benchmark, so it is nowhere near cutting edge performance. The biggest issue though is that they are misrepresenting the RAM. They claim it is 16GB, but it is 4GB of actual RAM and 12 GB of RAM Extension, which is just a swap file on the devices' regular storage. The extension RAM is slow, and using it will wear out the device storage more quickly. It's absolutely dishonest to call it a 16GB device.

An incredible price!
A great tablet, although I'm a little wary of the software. It is running Android 14, but clearly doing so on top of something else. The first clue is the "factory reset" method, which involves going to a command-line style interface. I have reset Android devices before, and they don't work like that. Also, with a vague brand and model, it can be tricky to find a case or screen protector. But at this price, you don't really need one. Just maybe don't keep state secrets on it.
