Human Sectional Anatomy is great!
Enough looking for the best plate in your classic anatomy atlas to understand that CT! Human Sectional Anatomy provides you a collection of plates that are easily understood and compared to any CT or MRI. It is always easy to get to the picture/structure you want. Also, adjacent to any picture, you will find a brief description as well as a CT or an MRI with a scheme to help you distinguish the different structures. Additionally, you will find some useful parts called "selected images" that include some additional pictures that will help you understand the imagiology pictures. However, since this atlas has been built with cadaver sections, it may be quite difficult to distinguish certain structures (nerves are a very good example, they are very, very difficult). Don't forget that, since the plates are photographs, you will not see the detail and contrast shown in classical anatomy atlas, which most times highlight some important structures. Also, since the sections are a lot larger than are shown in this book, it will be impossible to discern the relations between minor structures, such as most vessels and nerves.I do not think, though, that this is a disadvantage, since this atlas seems to have been built to help understand major anatomical relations and structures, and for that it is a great book. Where Human Sectional Anatomy fails the most is at non-axial body sections. It is great for understanding axial cross-sections and axial CTs. It is not as fine, however, when it comes to coronal or sagital sections.I think this is the major fault in this book (I am not saying the book is bad for that). I really like this atlas, it is helping me a lot now that I am studying Topographic Anatomy at second grade Medicine, and it would have helped me as well when I studied the internal organs six months ago, or the musculo-skeletal system a year ago. Despite those disadvantages, I give this book five stars! For a pocket atlas (that does not fit into your pocket) I think it is very rich!

Great book
Took a very long time to arrive.... but that's a different matter.... the book:1) Really good, accurate male/female real slices as if looking at CT but real life.2) Lovely comparison to CT and MRI images and nice summary after each part (i.e. thorax, abdomen etc.).3) Great key words sections and definitions, spoke about in a small paragraph of words. You do need extra resources to further understand the anatomy and connectivity, but it's a really good book (for the price).

Not really pocket sized!
You would need big pockets for this book, but a good atlas.

Realistic images, in order to learning anatomy first.
This book may be a good begining for fast and efficient review of anatomy for radiology residents. It has real anatomic section pictures and marks important regions on CT or MRI.But this book is not for learning comprehensive normal CT and MRI anatomy. It is just for learning real anatomic sections first.

Ein gut gelungenes Atlas der Schnittbildanatomie.
Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Buch. Hochwertige Bilder, gute Erklärung. Das ist nicht überdimensional groß und sehr gut in der Handhabung.Kaufen!

Very well layed out and very explanatory.
I gave this book a 5 star review because it gives a cross section of actual human anatomy alongside CT and MRI scans of the same region of the body. The book is clear in its explanations of the anatomy imaged as well as what modality was used to obatin the images.Although this book is by no means a complete anatomy book, it is a great supplement for anyone who is in the diagnostic imaging field who would like to either learn more about the images they are looking at or just wants to brush up on some anatomy in a way that is both useful and relevant to their field.I used this book while crosstraining and studying for the CT technologists license exam and feel that it was very useful in helping prepare me for the exam.

good
it not only gave you a anatomical cross section it also gives you either a mri or ct crossection. Also give you an ap or lat or coronal image to see where the crosssection was taken.

Great supplement for Cross Sectional Anatomy class!
I'm currently taking a college course in cross sectional anatomy. I bought this book because our assigned text was lacking in cadaver images but yet we were expected to be able to identify structures on cadaver images for our exams. After showing this book to my professor, he recommended it to the class and is considering including it as an optional book for the course next term. The images are of amazing quality. I've found it to be great to quiz myself from since you can easily cover up the legend. I would highly recommended this book to students in cross sectional anatomy courses.

Not a 'pocket' version. Normal but smaller cut book. Great pics.
This is NOT a 'Pocket' version but the pictures are very good. Really nice for cadaver anatomy. This came to me in excellent condition.
