Datsun 240Z 1969 to 1973: Essential Buyer’s Guide
T**S
Tiny book, poor layout but would still buy in hindsight.
When I first saw this title I honestly didn't spend even two minutes reviewing the description before hitting the purchase button. I really like to support the Z enthusiast hobby so any new book on the topic is typically a slam dunk buy for me. As stated in the headline, I would still buy this book despite my criticisms. Before you do, be aware:1 - The book is tiny at a scant 7.5" x 5.5" Sometimes this is fine and can be downright cozy, but read on.2 - The book layout is in a word, atrocious. This is my number one gripe with this title. I assume the typesetter/designer had to overcome quite a few obstacles to fit this material into such a small format. The body copy is on the small side with tight leading, combined with sans serif font = not pleasing to read. Because of the shortage of space, the body copy has been run out pretty far leaving a small margin. This again makes for uncomfortable reading since the words run into the gutter/spine of the book. Lastly (and personal preference), are the chapter and paragraph headings colored in straight cyan. They just look odd.3 - The majority of photographs are not much bigger than a postage stamp - worthless. (Cause: See #1)4 - Be aware this is a UK targeted book. There is a decent amount of discussion that really only applies to UK Zedd enthusiasts. While I find them interesting, such tidbits as phone numbers to call to verify the MoT certificate or discussions about previous owners putting in old Range Rover Buick V8s are largely worthless to US Z car fans. Sorry ol' chap.5 - Some of the information is pretty basic used/classic car buying 101 stuff.I'd buy it again, but I wish they had put more thought into this one before release. Perhaps do a US version, and fill out the content a bit more so they could justify the larger 8.5" x 11" format. If you don't yet own Wicky Humble's "How to Restore Your Datsun Z Car," I'd buy that title first.

Petit livret très bien fait et complet; malheureusement la mise en page peu aérée rend l'ensemble pas très confortable à lire.
