Snow grippers
Bought these for my husband and will be able to say if they work once we have some more snow, they fit his shoes/boots which is excellent

Make sure its on securely
Generally worked well. However in middle of walking the dog (had placed over wellies) one did ping off. Maybe just needs adjusting. Good value

A must on the ice!
Perfect for fitting over shoes with a heel (or even without a heel) I wouldn't dare go out on the icy paths without them.

Good idea but these broke immediately
These are an excellent idea and I'm sure you can get more durable versions of them (which I will be looking into).I ordered these cheap versions to give them a go and they are excellent at first, easy to attach to your shoes and a godsend in this current ice that is hanging around on the pavements. I've recently had surgery on a broken collarbone so was delighted to be able to walk out onto the pavements with more confidence from the extra grip these give.Unfortunately after only two uses both pairs (one being used by my wife) have lost almost all the metal grips from the bottom. One has lost every single metal grips so is just a rubber strap. The other three all have lost two or three spikes and presumably it'll only be a matter of a couple more uses and they'll have fallen off. See pic for illustration of how many have fallen off.My advice would be if you're looking for some of these then perhaps under a tenner for two pairs is not enough to get a product that lasts.

Good for emergency use
These cramp-on like attachments are really good for giving you a bit of grip in icy conditions. They're probably best suited for use when you're in the countryside but will be fine on icy roads and pavements in a pinch. I say that as the sharp segs that give you grip are likely to wear out quickly on paved surfaces. They are easy to attach to your boots though, just hook the front loop over the toe and stretch the rear loop back and up over your heel. Bear in mind that they only add grip to the front of your foot, there's nothing to stop your heel from slipping.Given that these are currently £7 for two sets, they're really good value for money and both I and my other half have a set in the boot of our cars for emergency use.
