Sennheiser HD 202 Closed Back On-ear Stereo Headphone
I only recently came across these headphones, I noticed that they get consistantly great reviews, so decided it was time to buy a pair and try them out, for the price it seemed I had not much to loose. They arrived in the usuall plastic packaging which must be opended carefully to avoid damaging the headphones!.First impressions/thoughts, nicely packaged, the plastic headband looks to be cheap and flimsy with a glued on headband cushion!, the cable is not as long as I had imagined and looks and feels better quality than I had read about or was expecting. Next I checked out the little silver metal adaptor (3.5mm Socket to 6.35mm Jack Plug)which is of a really nice quality, so happy with that, it could well come in handy too!. Also in the packaging was a neat and well made cable winder that has a slide on type clip which is easily clipped onto say your trouser pocket for example, be careful not to throw it away with the packaging as it is kind of hid inside the packaging a bit!. So next I tried them on and see that of the left and right headphones can be individually adjusted up or down, but that's all regarding adjustability. The headphone ear pads are of a nice quality and feel and I believe that they can be removed and replacements can be purchaesd if needed. Now back to the quality of the plastic headband that I first noticed and mentioned, it is of a simple design which of course means less chance of anything breaking and although it at first felt and looked a little thin and flimsy it is actually perefctly adequate, I guess I can't be expecting too much for what I paid for them.So overall regarding the design and quality my first impressions of these Sennheiser HD202 headphones are all good, they fit me comfotably and the cable winder is really useful and works great should you wish to use it(cbale is 3m long), especially if wearing them outside using them with your phone or mp3 player etc...Now on to the sound quality, they lived up to expectations and I'm really pleased with the sound quality, compared to my earbud type headphones these are so much nicer, the bass is just perfectly awesome, not overpowering but yes they do have decent bass - which is how I prefer them as I listen to drum and bass music!.So for the money they are priced just right, the build quality is very satisfactory and they look as if they will stand upto plenty of daily use without falling to bits!, simple design yet robust enough.I'm very happy with these HD202's, glad I purchased them and I have NO complaints about them at all, especially considering the price.EDIT: after a weeks use of these I'm still really pleased with these headphones, build qulity is superb and although I have had no other headphones to compare these too I'm really liking the sound from these, also the 3 metre cable is has really handy.

GREAT BUY GREAT SOUND GREAT QUALITY!!!
I recently bought these having been disappointed with the ear phones that came with my mobile huaweii ascend g300. I had a pair of diddybeats that produced great quality music but not at loud levels and felt uncomfortable being plugged into the ear.I bought a pair of sony earphones that produced decent results but again could not handle high volume bass. I was beginning to get disillusioned and thinking it was my phones fault. Then I took a punt and purchased these and my life changed forever! The sound quality is truly amazing. The bass is perfect it can handle a good deep bass at high volumes, not many can, including my £100 Diddybeats ear plugs. The build quality is top notch. The pads are super quality around the ears and on top of the head. I have never seen such soft and durable comfy pads. The size is perfect to fully consume the ears unlike the round ones you see.The wire is 3m long which is perfect for watching from your laptop while in bed or your tv and it has a cable winder for when you are on the move. The only negative is the cable winder is slightly big and could be smaller but it does the job.Overall great quality headphones and if like me you want a great quality sound that can handle all types of music at high sound levels, this is the ideal choice. If you have toyed with ear phones and been disappointed and do not want to spend £300 on a top of the range headphone set, you cannot go wrong with these especially for mp3 players and mobile phones. Remember these are only £22.99!One of the best purchases I have ever made, hence the review.

Very good compromise price-wise, sound-insulating and comfortable to wear
*UPDATE* The chord to one of the cups has finally frayed to the point where I have a mono-phone now, after over a year maybe closer to 2. I still feel that the headphones put up with a fair amount of abuse. I've jogged with the in the rain, caught them by the chord and stuffed them in a rucksack so really can't complain: Skull-Candies wouldn't have survived a week! Overall I'd say for the price and build quality you can't quite call them an investment, unless you glue-gun the point where the wire meets the heaphones. But for £25 it would have been nicer if they'd lasted a little longer.I have to say that after reading all these reviews the sound quality on these headphones isn't quite as mind-blowing as I had been lead to expect. In the first few seconds of listening, higher tones seem a little tinny (not vanilla ear-phone kind of tinny, just a little bit). I expect that this is in part due to the closed-back format of the headphones. Whilst they may not be as crisp as earphones, they've got a richer sound that's less monotonic than the earphones that came with your phone/mp3 player. In fact, my cheap Microsoft Lifechat Lx-3000 (USB) head-set certainly has comparable, perhaps even better sound! However, since I am upgrading from the earphones that came with my HTC phone I certainly can't complain. I listen to dance/house/club music mostly, so for me the satisfying "dub-dub-dub-dub" of the bass these headphones provide is the main factor. The head-phones are great at blocking out outside noise. When you consider noise-cancelling headphones cost hundreds these are great value for money. I have to remember to be very careful about crossing roads with these on, as you certainly wouldn't hear a car coming whilst wearing them. The added benefit is that you can listen to music at a lower volume since you're not competing with the sound of traffic any more. I'm also looking forward to using them on my next train journey, since I expect I'll actually be able to hear what the characters are muttering in movies without forcing earphones into my skull. In the silence of my room, the heaphones seemed to leak a lot of noise. But once on a bus, or even in the computer room of a library, they seemed very quiet on the occasions when I took them off to check for sound leakage. You'd have to either have your sound up to ear-damaging volumes, or be in a church to irritate others with your music. They're also very comfortable to wear. The ear-cups swivel a lot and can be clicked up or down, and there's no 'clamping' sensation. My only fear is that the 'swivelly' mechanisms will also be easy to break, but I think they come with a warranty, so presumably Sennheiser are confident in their build quality. The only issue is that once hung around your neck, eg. during lectures, the headphones actually feel quite tight. They tend to have that slight choking effect that you get when you do up your top button with a tie. But then again it's easy enough just to plonk them on the desk instead when you're sitting down. The cable is very long but you get a handy wind-up belt clip, so the actual length is customizable.
