Clever, thoughtful book about how we used to tell stories and how we do it now
This book takes the idea of a story and follows it throughout history to show us how humankind tells stories now and how we told them in the past. It's a deceptively simple book - the illustrations are clear and the text is plain - but the ideas in this book are big ideas and every page has a simple intriguing historical fact that invites the reader to further research. And the author/illustrator has cleverly bookended the story with ancient humans first telling stories around their fire to modern humans at the end telling their stories around a camp fire on a camping trip.

Thank you Dan Yaccarino for writing another great book!
When you want to show a child or an adult how powerful words become, share this book with them! I originally bought this book as a gift for my six year old grandson. I was so impressed with this book that I purchased a few more copies to share with the second grades when they started writers workshop. Thank you for making this book available on Amazon. Thank you Dan Yaccarino for writing another great book!

Love the traces of the history
The Author thought a lot about the historical transition of the deliverance of the story. Great illustrations and the story itself. We basically went over each page to tell about what happened during that time of era.
