Works as expected - As long as your expectations are aligned with reality
It's light, very light. The materials and manufacture quality are in line with what you would expect from a low budget item Made in China. That said it works well enough on all the dynamic microphones and associated XLR leads I've tried it on. Completely noiseless and so far reliable.Do not try and use this with Condenser (or phantom powered) Microphones!!I use it with my head mounted mic which doesn't have an isolation switch (I play keyboards in my current band) and so having a means to switch off the mic is invaluable during a gig, ....'cough, cough'. Yep, that can be disastrous during a song, not to mention embarrassing.

Does what I expected
Works fine, no additional buzz or hum on the line. Very happy

Does the job well enough
I bought this mic mute so my desktop mic wouldn't capture audio when I'm not using it. The device functions well, and mutes the mic without any kind of characteristic 'mic mute pop' that some devices have. It's quite a bit larger than I thought it would be -- about the length of the long side of a credit card so it might be worth getting a short .5m XLR patch cable to connect it more neatly. One of the little female pins looked worryingly close to coming out after a few insertions, but so far nothing's gone wrong.

Best solution for Dynamic Vocal Microphone
Dynamic Vocal Microphone has no on/off power switch so Hosa GMS-274 Microphone Power Switch is the best solution so you do not need to switch of your amplifire or to remove microphone cable partecularly when you want to avoide sounds conflict

Rubbish
Cheaply made, cheap quality, it's not a silent switch as I get a pop when turned off and on through the pa speakers. Not worth the money

Ground lifter - but fails (easy to fix though)
I bought two of these ground lifters to fix a ground loop noise issue however they failed in that task. However given that the task is pretty simple (essentially just to severe the ground connection between the two XLR connections), I decided to take them apart and see what was what. Whilst the positive and negative connections are directly wired to each other it turned out that the ground connections were soldered to the chassis mounting tangs in both the male and female connectors, which are in turn connected by metal bolts to the metal chassis - thus completing a circuit! After cutting the connections to the ground pins and reassembling the units worked correctly as expected, removing the ground loop noise in my system so I've given them an average score - they work but be prepared to get have to do some DIY to make them!

Easy to use. No noise.
Works well. Being used to provide a switch on lectern mike at our church. No noise when being turned on or off.

Lifts ground from balanced XLR. Great for ground loops
They do what they say on the tin and lift the ground from a balanced XLR connection. This is useful if one end of the run is connected to a different mains outlet than the other end. For example your source or desk, at one end of the room, going into a PA system at the other. This will help to rid you of a nasty ground loop.

Works great!
But why is it so expensive?

Worked well, wired correctly, made things better not worse
I want to counter some of the bad reviews I see on Amazon, because this did just what we needed it to do. We have connected a social hall sound system to and from Zoom so that we can host hybrid meetings. This caused a constant low-level noise to be heard in the hall. We ascribe that to a ground loop, which we broke by inserting this device into one of the connection runs (sound system output to Zoom microphone input, to be precise). The noise is gone now. FYI we are using a Micolindun external sound card USB hub and an HP laptop to run Zoom.
