A lot of promise, sadly quite disappointing
I purchased this unit with high expectations however overall it has been a disappointment. First the good; it connects almost instantly you start your car (Audi Q5) and overall the sound quality is good. It also works well in cojunction with the inbuilt mobile phone system. The bad:- The device never goes off. I live on the 3rd floor and park on the ground floor.I am unable to connect to the bluetooth speakers at home as it's constantly going back to its connection with the Carpro- When the device connects it selects its on playlist and reverts to it irrespective of what you were playing before- There have been a couple of connection errors but these only occured rarelyAs a result of all this, I am discarding this device and will try an alternative.

No recomendable
No es recomendable ya que no puedes poner en pausa las canciones, tampoco reproducir audios o videos durante su uso. No se desconecta aun con el auto apagado y consume bateria de tu mobil.

A very big improvement for a reasonable price, easy to use, convenient and great audio quality
This tiny little thing is awesome. I have a 2012 Audi, so it has the older phone-only bluetooth (MMI but pre-A2DP I think) that can't handle streaming bluetooth music. This CarPro is a plug and play instant solution and it worked very well out of the box and is all around very easy to use. I had the same issue as most people where if you try to have both your car's bluetooth and this one going you can hear little skips every now and then in the music. That's no big deal, but the problem is that when someone calls you this thing makes the call sound crappy/choppy. Just turn off your car's bluetooth and the skips go away and the sound quality is fantastic. I'm using a samsung s5 with spotify with this and the in car controls work for simple things like skipping songs and pause/play which is very handy. When someone calls me now while I'm driving, the phone handles pausing the music and I can answer it or generally just wait to call them back. If it's really important and I have to talk to them while driving I can unpair from the CarPro and re-pair with my car (I only do this for call-in meetings really), but generally I just call them back in a few minutes when I stop.I highly recommend this, for $75 or so it has transformed my car audio into the most convenient and the best sounding I've ever experienced. I went with this over the tune2air because the tune2air seemed to be geared a lot more towards iphone. This carpro works great with android - I love how whenever I get back into my car it starts seamlessly working from my pocket right where I left off without me ever needing to press a single button and I can do most of what I need to from my steering wheel controls (except for changing playlists). There's no interference with other bluetooth devices that I've noticed like my MS smart band or other people's devices or anything either. This means that likely the skipping issue is the car audio management temporarily switching between inputs. The only other drawback, which doesn't affect me because only I drive my car, is that it can only pair with one device at a time. So if you were sharing it, you'd need to unpair on yours to let someone else play music - I think.

This worked better than expected
I have a 2007 Audi Q7 and had an aftermarket AMI interface installed several years ago. The interface worked okay - it is accessed via the CD function. I had an old iPod hooked up but really wanted to be able to use my iPhone to stream music and get Waze audio to play over the car audio system. This worked better than expected!Pairing was easy and took a few minutes. Power to the unit comes on with the car accessory power. The unit seems to retain power for several minutes after the car is turned off (blue light stays on) but does eventually power down.I was able to see all of my playlists plus Apple Radio stations from my phone on the MMI screen. I was also able to play Pandora via the iPhone. Waze audio also played through the audio system without an issue. The only two 'buggy' things I came across were: 1) iTunes audio starts automatically and tried to override Pandora a few times. I had to manually pause the Apple music playlist to allow Pandora to play. 2) Once I select a playlist via MMI I cannot get back to see the full list of playlists unless I exit to CD function and reenter, Both of these things may be related to the fact that I have an aftermarket AMI interface and are relatively minor inconveniences compared to the awesomeness of having working Bluetooth music in my car!

Works as expected for a 2012 Audi Q5 with MMI-2 interface and iPhone 11
Overall rating 4 - purchase date 11/4/19. I chose this product based on the reviews of this and several competing units. A number of reviewers settled on this one after becoming frustrated with poor performance and quality issues with other similar devices. Also, this company is located in the US so I figured if I have any problems it should easier to get a resolution. Before going into my review it is important to understand why you are considering purchasing a Bluetooth adapter. If you are tired of having extra wires (or any) running across the inside of your Audi then this is the right product for you; however, if you are hoping to buy an adaptor that will provide a modern interface that will appear and feel like you have a 2019 model car then forget it, there is nothing out there that will do that. I have a 2012 Q5 with the Audi MMI-2 interface and use the OEM connector.I want to review how the MMI-2 interface works since it is important to understand how any Bluetooth adaptor will perform or be measured against. Most negative reviewers do not understand how the interface works and provide low ratings as a result. You have to remember this interface is 8 years old and does not perform like the newer Audi MMI-3(x) interface. When I first bought the car I used the apple 30-pin to lightning adaptor on my iPhone 6. When playing music the playlist would always auto select to the first one listed and then would play music in order, the console and steering controls worked as expected. If I wanted to select a different playlist or shuffle I would have to do that on my phone. Also, I would need to set the volume to high on my phone and then would adjust as normal using the car controls. Finally, the MMI-2 interface is always "hot" or powered therefore anything plugged into it will be powered even with the car off. Since the apple cord is very short, it forced me to keep my glove box open while driving so I could play music. Therefore, I had to buy an aftermarket MMI-2 to headphone adaptor so that I could listen to music, and use Waze while driving. That meant my car controls were useless. I now have an iPhone 11 and needed a new solution.Product review:Setup/installation - 5: You cannot get any easier, just plug it in, turn on the car and then search for the CarPro in your phone settings, pair it and then you are set. As stated above, the adapter will remain powered up even if the car is off - if you are concerned about car battery usage or if your phone stays connected or it interferes with another Bluetooth device usage when home, then unplug the adapter when you leave the car - I have not experienced any issues since purchasing.Performance - 4: When you start up the car, the adapter will autoplay without any action from the user. The way the adapter interfaces with an iPhone coupled with the MMI-2 interface, it will always start from the first song of the first playlist on your phone. I tried to get around it by having a song playing before getting in the car but the reset still occurs. A minor inconvenience but I see it operating very similar to how my older iPhone worked when connecting via hardwire. The car display always shows the first playlist and the songs on it listed in order, regardless of what playlist I am using or streaming service. Just a note, if I change playlists using the car controls then the screen updates accordingly. The current song playing box does come up and will change with songs; however, if I change the song/playlist manually in iTunes or skip a song on streaming the current song shown will lag, but eventually catches up. If I use the car controls to select a new song, the current song playing box updates; however, that wipes out the shuffle function and then you have to go back to your phone and select it.Car Controls - 4: The car controls do work; however, there is a caveat - they respond differently when playing music from iTunes versus using a streaming service. The only difference is the FWD/REV skip buttons. When playing music from iTunes, the buttons will only work as FF/REV and you have to hold them down for that to even work. I cannot get those buttons to skip or replay a song when on iTunes. If I stream music (I tested Amazon Music, Pandora, and Spotify) the buttons all work as expected. The steering controls work fine regardless of what music is being played. Also when streaming the screen will just list all the songs listed as whatever service you are using i.e if I am using Amazon the song list just shows a repeating title of Amazon. The same goes for the other streaming services as well. The current song playing box does update with the songs as they change.Connectivity - 4: Again it connects right up and auto-plays, which is nice. But I have experienced some minor (less than a second) dropouts when music is playing. It is also intermittent, which means it is something that is inherent to the adapter - hence I dropped the rating to 4 stars. I have used Waze and it plays just fine through the adapter and I have not experienced any problems with the car's built phone Bluetooth for making or receiving calls. In fact, my testing found that after completing calls, the music picks up right where it left off, therefore the internal pause function of the MMI-2 interface works perfectly with this adapter.Sound Quality - 4: Yes you have to turn your volume up all the way on your phone and then adjust to your liking via the car controls. But that is normal with just about any Bluetooth connection. Also, the sound is a little light on bass, but I have seen that in many Bluetooth devices as well, so I was not surprised. That being said - it is 2019 and I believe the company should be able to figure that out and improve on it.Final note - Several users noted performance issues after 2-3 months of usage. I will come back and update my rating after that timeframe.

Works AWESOME! Pandora/Spotify/Apple Music (Cloud) all work easily from your phone in your Audi!
This thing is awesome. I'm using with my 2016 Audi S4 with the stereo that says "Audi concert" (non-MMI), which has the stereo knobs and buttons all on the dash (above the climate controls and not down by the shifter/armrest area). I'm playing music from my iPhone 6SE (latest iOS version 11.x).THIS THING WORKS! It is 99.9% perfect and if you are bummed b/c you spent over $50k on an Audi that doesn't even stream music thru bluetooth, this will make you happy again!Positives:- Music streaming works well.- When a call interrupts everything works fine and it behaves totally seamlessly. (same behavior as native streaming in a VW) Once the call is over it goes back to the music.- It shows the name of the artist/song/album and elapsed time of the track playing. (even if it's Spotify/Pandora/etc)- The skip forward/backward buttons work correctly.- The when you click the volume knob to mute, it pauses what is playing on your iPhone, instantly. (I read someone else's review saying it plays for something like 15-30 seconds, but I simply have not experienced this at all even once.)- When you click again it starts right where you left off.- Once you are connected you are 100% good for the rest of your drive.Negatives:- Occasionally doesn't connect right. When this happens all I do is go to the bluetooth menu on my iPhone, it will say "CarPro - Connected", but even so just click on it again, it will show the spinner for a split second and then you are connected instantly. (really not a big deal considering how well it does everything else)- I would say sound quality is not as good as a CD on the same stereo, but is at least as good as it was in my 2012 VW GLI that had built in bluetooth streaming. I don't think that's an issue with this product, but with the limitations of bluetooth streaming for music and digital music compression maybe.- Sometimes the songs listed above/below the currently playing one are incorrect, but the highlighted song that is currently playing is ALWAYS correct.
