Comfort & Waterproof
I bought the boots because of the price & general good reviews. A few days after receiving them we had rain with 20 m/h gusts of wind. Yet, my boots held up; keeping my feet warm and dry.I used to wear the Wolverine boots but because they were so uncomfortable after work, I just left them in my work locker. My new Hi Tec's are so comfy, I wear them to and from work, despite having worked in them all day.

Comfortable fit, but hot
I would give 5 stars but for the fact that my feet get hot after some time. I do a lot of walking, climbing, leaning etc as an airplane mechanic. Sometimes when it's hot out. These work boots keep my feet safe from equipment, dockings, heavy tools and the like.I work 12 hour shifts and they do feel comfortable throughout, though a tad heavy. My only negative in the month I've used the boots is the heating up feeling which I could probably solve if I got merino wool socks.

Fit well and are comfortable
Been wearing them for two months so far they have been great a lot lighter than my usual steel toe boots, very comfortable I hope they continue to hold up as well as they have been, composite toe has been put to the test a few times and held up fine.

Had high hopes, but was ultimately let down.
I have been a long time worker at a local shopping mart and a graveyard shift freight and stocking employee for the markets warehouse. I have had a hard time finding shoes that last me longer than 4-6 months and was hoping the higher than normal pricing on these pair of boots would maybe mean a longer life expectancy.Unfortunately, as is the case with most steel toed shoes, the toes wore out the fastest, followed by the ring loops at the top of the shoes failing about 4 months in. Eventually the soles inside the shoes gave out making them uncomfortable to continue using. The total lifespan of the shoes was from July 31st of 2023 until mid late January 2024.I might chalk this up to high stress conditions for these boots considering the walking is done on concrete most of the time and that I never rotate them out, but for the price I paid (about $120 at the time) I could have bought 3 pairs of steel toed sneakers that would have lasted the same amount of time (each) in the same conditions.I may not purchase these again, but I can't find fault with the product so much as the product not living up to the interpreted intended usage.

These boots are not slip resistant!
If your working environment includes slippery surfaces these are not the boots you want. I suffered a really bad fall right on my tailbone in these within the 1st month of wearing them at work. It was a railroad tie being used as steps at exterior of home that was wet with dew. I have never experienced a fall like that in the 20 plus years I've been in my profession. I don't recommend these boots and in my opinion they are dangerous.

Worth the money
So I thought I’d wait a bit to review these because boots really need to break in before you know how they are going to be. I’ve been wearing these a few months now and I have to say, for the money, they are a pretty good boot. Very comfortable to wear for a full days work and they are just as well built as their boots were 20 years ago. If you’re not wanting to pay the price $300-$600 for a pair of Danners, Chippewas, Red Wings, Whites, Nicks etc. then this is a good boot for you. Under average work these will last years. Under strenuous rough conditions you will get a year or more out of them, especially if you’re rotating your boots.

Another Great Addition To My Boot Collection
I recently placed an order for a newly released Men’s Work Boot from Hi-Tec Bootmakers. This is a waterproof, slip resistant, composite toe work boot that has safety in mind for ones that need work related foot protections or in my case added support around the ankles and firm footing for stability in walking.Made with nubuck leather which is a soft and durable luxury leather (similar to suede) this is an attractive boot for everyday wear beyond a worksite or construction zone. You can feel the quality and comfort with this bootmakers Ortholite Impression sock liner inside the boot that offers up a cushion like feel when walking. The tongue on this boot is larger in length and wider than normal boots (that I own) and when the boot is laced up this tongue is compressed against the upper ankle area of the foot and for me provides added comfort while keeping unwanted debris or substances from getting inside the boot. This boot measures 6-inches from the top of the heal to the top edge of the boot, the heal adds close to another 2-inches (8-inches total height from floor to top of boot). There are 6 pairs of eyelets on each boot and these eyelets are a combination of [3] sets of D-Ring Eyelets and [3] sets of Hooked Eyelets -also called Speed Eyelets. D-Ring Eyelets are very durable and have a larger opening than regular punched eyelets found on shoes and less expensive boots. The Hooked Eyelets simplifies lacing up boots and allows for quick lacing/ cinching of a boot. Perfect setup for my liking and I must mention putting on these boots was also an easy process – some boots are very snug at the entrance of the boot or have a zippered side panel release to assist with getting one’s foot into the boot. With these boots I had no issues with getting my foot into and resting in place, and with the larger and faster eyelet setup lacing the boots was a simple and easy process. These work boots have a medium weight (roughly 3 lbs) and are stiffer than a sneaker boot, softer than a tactical or military styled boot. The rubber outsole prevents slippage in wet and/or oily conditions, the bottom sole is not super aggressive like a hiking boot where maximum traction is required. These boots bottom sole (pattern design traction grooves) is more than adequate for any duties inside or outside a workplace or area. DRI-TEC technology enables this boot to have significant waterproofing and breathability. My comfort level is outstanding wearing these boots - I live in a hot tropical climate and keep these boots on all day to early evening and have no issues with my feet overheating or chafing. In summary I wear boots every day of the week, and I am always looking for comfort and ease of wear with my footwear in general and these Hi-Tec Excavator Composite Toe Work Boots are a welcome addition to my increasing collection of boot wear.Recommend Purchase/ Buy if looking for a composite toe work boot that is comfortable and safe to wear, easy to put on, and looks great.
