We had made plans to go to the beach. We needed something exciting for my son to do since the beach is not his thing. What is his thing is tractors and equipment. So being surrounded by sand, what better to get than an excavator. I was just looking for one of the plastic ones that you use like a shovel when I found this. Was not sure if he would be able to figure out how to control it but he erased all doubt pretty quick. He took the radio control on this thing and in 10 minutes or less had it down pat. It functions very much like a real excavator. He said it was really easy to use. The motors in it are not overly loud and it even has a button to make realistic tractor sounds. It’s not very heavy which is great so he can carry it around easily. The size was big enough to really move some dirt but small enough to not take up too much room in the car. I like the fact that the bucket is actually metal so it will last a lot longer than a plastic one. Very satisfied with the purchase. Now to find a dump truck so I can play with him next time.

This toy was a great gift for my grandsons, so I purchased two of them. They are so lifelike and easy to operate. Everyone was fascinated by the real steam coming from them, too. Another plus was the two rechargeable batteries it comes with, so one will always be charged.

This toy is pretty cool for older kids. Our oldest kid loves controlling it and play in the sandbox with it. He does a pretty decent job with it and can entertain him for quite some time. I would not recommend this for smaller kids or kids who still do not understand this is an RC vehicle and should not be played with directly as it feels quite flimsy and do not feel it would survive the fingers of his toddler brother.Otherwise, it is fun to use and once the kid understands the controls, they can easily fill a truck of sand and do a decent job at it.

My 7 year old nephew loves it. Likes the demo function. Batteries last a long time.

This is such a great product!!! Kids love it !!

This is probably a very unique toy. I thought it was cool to see the pully style belt-drive system operate. It also contains very good details. Thus, the item itself works ok. It will probably take a couple of days for use of this item to grow on someone. However, this item does seem very boring to me. I'm not certain of why that is. I'm also not certain if anyone else is going to want this item, but maybe they will. I will probably be donating this one to the Goodwill.
