Hippychick Tencel Fitted Mattress Protector Cot (60 x 120 cm) I bought this protector for my granddaughter's cot bed as she is being toilet trained, although it dries fairly quickly we thought it would be good to buy two. It has been so good that we also got one for the cot. It is so soft and does not sweat and nothing seeps through to the mattress. I have only given it four star rating as I feel that it is rather expensive, but it does pay to shop around as prices vary. Highly recommended! I have had this product for five years now and it has never once let me down. Used constantly on my daughter's bed it stays in place, doesn't rustle, and never lets leaks through. The fact I can tumble dry too is an added bonus on rainy days. Highly recommended.

I never usually find the time to write product reviews but I really can't speak highly enough of these fitted waterproof mattress protectors. My son (age 4) recently moved into a cabin bed and I was concerned that changing the bedding would be awkward (not least because it's a European make and therefore doesn't conform to standard UK bedding sizes) but having a mattress protector and fitted sheet in one (available in metric equivalent sizes) has made life a lot easier. The tencel fabric is soft to the touch without any of the crunching/rustling you get with cheaper alternatives. The waterproofing has also been put to the test and came up trumps - the mattress was bone dry and there were no residual water marks or discolouring. So impressed I've bought a second as a spare.

This waterproof sheet is super-light and easy to handle. It does the job effectively. Past experience with cheaper products is that the waterproofing starts to bubble and peel off after a few times in the wash. The Hippychick sheet stood up to being put through industrial-sized washing machines while we were away on holiday, and so far it appears to be durable. I particularly appreciate that it comes in different sizes to fit metric and Imperial-sized beds, so it will do for Ikea mattresses. I'd give it five stars if it wasn't so expensive!

When I bought the first protector, I thought it works great, as my kid just has a little accident and the bed was protected. I then ordered a second one which I have yet to open. This morning, I woke up to find the sheet really wet, and was thinking good now I am prepared and did not rush to get the first clean. To my horror, even the bed which I was protecting was damp, especially at the sides, even the floor was wet. I do not understand how that happen. All I figure was that the pee was of a great amount, and the protector is seriously just so so, since I can see the area of the damp area on the bed as well. Now I was really wondering if I should send back the unopened packet. The first set was just washed perhaps 2-3 times. Could it have already wear out?~~~August 21, 2013Really regret not sending back the unopened packet. I felt I had to write this since this must be the 3rd or 4th time my mattress and even my floor got wet. If your kid likes to sleep on the edge, this is not recommended since the sides are not waterproof.

I purchased this after another mattress protector purchase for a single bed that I was not happy with. This one was known to me as I a few years ago I got a cotbed 70x140 size mattress protector like that one. Even though this product is not the cheapest, it's of good quality and not noisy. I cannot really say whether waterproof quality is there, as my daughter does not have night time accidents. However, she did have one on the other small mattress protector and it did work well. So I hope I am not wrong in saying that this one would also work...

The version I had two years prior to this one was much better (made from wood pulp) It was less crisp packet sounding than this one and it fitted much better. However, this one is superior to the plastic-backed terry version, but not sure its worth the money difference anymore. I wish Hippychick would bring back the old version, which incidentally was guaranteed for 10 years, whereas the current one is only guaranteed for two; so that tells you it is an inferior product to its predecessor.Overall I would recommend this product over similar ones on the market, but it is pricey.

I've bought Hippychick before for my children's cotbed so know it's soft and does the job which it does for our superking. It fits, but is a little on the smallish size for our new mattress (ever so slightly), would prefer it to cover the mattress easily with a bit excess, but i'm a bit of perfectionist.
