Helps greatly with privacy and for a room darkening effect. I did just the bottom half of my windows so I can still see out the top if needed since it’s complete blackout ((just as I wanted.)). It’s Easy to install. Very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend.

easy to work with and convincing visual effect

This film is not easy to work with having sticky stuff on backside makes it ridiculous to get all the bubbles out. The kind that uses static cling is a much better choice. After spending about half an hour trying to get the bubbles out I took it off and threw it away. The more you work with it the worse it gets. A waste of twenty dollars

I had just finished applying UV blocking film on several window panes at a museum to protect the displays. It was an easy project, so I decided to get the 17.5 x 78.7 Inch one with the reed glass to obscure two bathroom windows in my RV.The backing film separated just fine and I used lots of water (with a few drops of dish soap) on the glass and on the film. The film adhered well and looks good.The reason for losing one star is that this film is stretchy. So, when trimming the edges with a very sharp exacto knife, the blade would sometimes catch and tear at the material. This caused me to toss away one window’s worth. Also, the end of the roll that was taped to the cardboard tube had some stretch marks. I’m hoping these will eventually relax and become unnoticeable.

I'm very happy with this purchase. It's easy to apply to windows and looks better than other options I tried.

My apartment building doesn't allow sticky film but I live on the first floor and I was tired of making accidental eye contact with strangers on the street. This still lets in a lot of light but provides a little more privacy. During the day you can't see into my apartment much at all, but at night when the lights are on inside, this doesn't do much. Still, I am happy with my purchase and happy that it came in a wide enough roll for my windows! I can tell it will peel off easily if/when I move out.

Like other reviewers, we did notice that it was challenging to apply. The biggest surprise was the fact that it was more transparent than we anticipated. It is thinner than the typical window adhesive vinyl and more sticky so you really have to put it in the right spot to start with or you will end up raising your own blood pressure.

This was very easy to install. My teenage daughter did it by herself. It took around 20 minutes to cover my back sliding glass door. I'm really satisfied with my purchase.
