When I saw this listing I immediately knew what purpose it would fulfill for me. When I batch cook a meal it is usually done in a baking tray and the baking tray gets transferred to the fridge. Often the glass shelf of the fridge picks up muck from the bottom of the tray and then cleaning is required.The problem is two fold. First the shelf is awkward to remove from the fridge and involves moving other stuff as well as the tray and secondly it won't fit in the sink and so is also difficult to wash. I am also mindful of a mishap that could result in a broken shelf.This mat being about 16" x 12" is just about the perfect size as my tray measures 14" x 11. So the tray fits on, with a little to spare, but the other contents of the shelf will sit straight on the glass. When I need a clean up the mat is easily removed, will go into the sink without issue and won't break if I drop it. Perfect!Value wise £6.67 is a good price to pay for a versatile mat that could be used in a fridge, on a counter top as a heatproof shield or even used to line the base of a flat bed microwave.

Silicone is a material that I have found in many good quality products recently. This mat is sold at a very reasonable price, and you can use it for far more than a dish drying mat. I like this type of mat in my drawers and cupboards to stop items marking them and to make cleaning easy as you just remove the silicone mat and wash that which is easier than trying to get in corners in cupboards. It is well designed as a drying mat with the wavy lines allowing the moisture to flow away from the dishes and providing a non-slip surface for stability. I also use one in my laundry cupboard to stand washing products on. This is a very useful good quality silicone mat.
