Dog loves it.
We tie a string around it and use it as fetching toy, the boxer loves it and won't play with any other toy. We've bought them in different colors so during the seasons we swap them out to make it stand out against the background. Blue/Green in the winter snow, Red in the summer. Dogs can see blues and yellows, red and green not so much so you can mix it up to keep them on their toes. The squeaker holds up for awhile but if you have a strong chewer like ours they will dislodge it from the body, it falls inside where you can't get to it.The toy is fairly durable outside. We've lost a couple during the winter and found them months later and they're still usable so it's fairly tough.Good quality toy that lasts and the dogs like it. I knocked off a star only because the squeaker can get dislodged.

My dog loves it, but I have safety concerns.
My dog loved this toy. I was not such a big fan.I ordered the large, but the chewable surface is not as long as I expected, only about 8 inches that can actually be chewed safely, the rest is the tail and the tip of the nose. I have a mastiff who loves to chew, but he is not particularly destructive about it. He really enjoys the texture of this toy and it took him a few days to destroy the squeakers. While he loves it, I don't. While he was chewing the hind end the rear squeaker shot out through the hole in the back with enough force that it flew across the room. It is composed of hard plastic and was the perfect size for him to choke on if that had gone down his throat. The rest of the toy held up fairly well, but when it started coming apart, it was in large chunks. While all rubber toys can cause a choking risk and should be supervised, this toy came apart into perfect sized chunks for him to get caught in his throat.

Both ears were chewed off shortly after and now it looks like a phallic symbol
Just one more toy purchased for my little dog that he was able to tear apart. 15 minutes after I gave it to him, he coughed and the tip of the tale went flying across the room. Both ears were chewed off shortly after and now it looks like a phallic symbol. For awhile the squeaker didn't work and I could no longer see it inside so I worried the dog may have eaten that too. Fortunately, ten minutes later, it started squeaking again so apparently it was pushed up inside the toy and lodged in a position that it would still squeak if chewed in the right place. The rubber is really tough and I do think the dog will enjoy chewing on the rest without being able to chew anything else off that is a risk for chocking. Not blaming the manufacturer as it appears there has not been a dog toy made that my little 16 month old baby can't destroy...

Our intense chewer hasn't messed it up yet; kind of heavy, but dog will go back to it.
The key thing with a dog that has figured out how to destroy any (even indestructible) sewn toys is to try and find something that lasts for more than a day. This toy has been enduring for a couple months without losing any parts. It is a very heavy toy which is probably necessary for its durability but limits how much it is enjoyed by the 25 pound dog carrying it around. While any toy does lose some of its novelty, the dog has revisited it several times. So it was worth the purchase.

If your dog is like mine, then this toy won't end well....
This toy came up in my search for durable toys for aggressive chewers. From the pictures, I did not hold out a lot of hope for the tail and ears to last with my dog-who makes it a personal mission to maim and disfigure the majority of toys we try. The tail was the first to go, but, to my surprise, the ears have outlasted the rear legs. I had to sneak it away to prevent him from swallowing pieces, and because I couldn't stand seeing this cute toy suffer such a horrible fate any longer. It is a good size for larger breeds, and durable for normal dog use, unfortunately, I do not own a normal dog. (But I love him just the way he is).

Ears and Tail Gone in a Flash
My dog has had other rubber toys that lasted for a long time. This one didn't last 5 minutes. The ears and tail stick out and are too small and inviting to chew off. Cute, but not for a dog.

Fairly durable overall
4 stars because my Yorkie was able to immediately chew off and eat all four feet, the ears, and the tail. Within 5 minutes, they were all gone. JW toys tend to hold up well, and it took him a year to destroy the gummy-bear looking JW toy, so I expected the extremities to last a little longer. But the rest of the toy, squeaker included, has held up well for a month against a dog that specializes in eating rubber-type toys, including red Kongs.

I ordered this toy and a few other JW toys. Our lab mix likes squeaky toys, but destroys stuffed and rope toys. He has plastic squeaky toys that have lasted for years. We bought this toy along with two other JW toys: a large round frog and a gummy bear.First of all, these toys are pretty heavy. Since we often play fetch in the house with our dog, these really aren't great for that purpose. Also, their material is a soft, rubbery material... similar to a thick baby pacifier if that makes sense. Most of the toys we get our dog are more of a plastic rubber that is shiny and smooth. These are matte with a slight texture. I feel these are to encourage heavy chewing. Our dog doesn't normally chew toys, but the moment we gave him these, he went to town trying to chew off the ears and feet. He got the tail off this one. All the heavy chewing has dislodged the squeaker, making them useless now since he rarely plays with a toy that doesn't squeak. The squeakers aren't actually attached to the toy, just shoved into a hole... so all the chewing makes it move out of place.Overall, I would not purchase again. Great for dogs who need to chew, like teething puppies, but useless for our dog who likes the squeaking aspect. We got about 15 minutes of play out of them... and considering the cost, it wasn't worth it.UPDATE: I am marking this down to a 1 star because of what happened today. Our dog brought me the toy and it sounded like shards of glass. Upon further inspection, he had shattered the squeaker. Had we not caught this, he wouldve eaten the sharp plastic pieces. As it was, he pooped out the tail yesterday. Uploading a picture of the broken squeaker that came out. These were the big chunks. Not pictured are the tiny plastic shards that fell into the trash.

R.I.P.
Like all dog toys they last for some dogs and don't last for others. I ordered 2, my male dog had the rear end chewed off and the squeezer out in about 15 mins, my female kept hers safe from her brother for a whole day and a half and now they match :( We still highly recommend JW dog toys as they are tougher than normal toys.

Durable. Dogs love it but squeaker was dead
This is the 3rd one of these I have bought over the years. JW toys are very durable. The problem with this one is that the squeaker didn't work from day 1 and that's why only a 3 star review.

Have had great success with JW Pet toys.
My Labrador Retriever loves toys that squeak. We had another toy that looked similar to this on (Mr. Squeakerton) but made of thin material. It lasted a good while as we worked hard to teach her "soft mouth" so she knows where to draw the line when playing, even with toys. This is at least 4x as thick and the squeaker is encased in harder plastic so it doesn't break as easy. Other brands I was constantly fixing the reed inside so it would squeak again.

Best toy ever!
Best toy I have ever bought for my dog. She usually destroys everything. I love that she can have a squeeky toy that doesn't lose its squeek within a day. Eventually she can chew through the ears and limbs of the toy but overall it stays mostly whole. Picture shows toy after about a month or two of use. I went out of my way to find this toy because our last one we bought at the pet store was great for a couple years.

Pas fait pour les gros grugeurs
J’ai d’autres jouets de cette marque et mon chien les a depuis longtemps. Je suis déçue de voir que ce jouet ne lui a duré que 15 minutes… c’est quand même cher payé.
