Intel NUC 8 Performance-G Kit (NUC8i7HNK) - Core i7 65W, Add't Components Needed

Llevo casi 2 años con este equipo, anteriormente era usario mac de casi 11 años y siempre me acostumbre a cambiar el disco y memoria de mis mac, y puesto que las ultimas fueron un fiasco para mi, carisimas con muchas broncas de manufactura, esta NUC fue una oda a todo geek.Tienes un excelente procesador y tarjeta para el dia a dia, en un inicio si llegue a correr juegos como batman arkham night, etc. pero realmente la uso como servidor de PLEX y Squeezebox.Tienes todas las ventajas de poder ir incrementando la ram y disco y sobre todo escoger el nivel de performance que querras. asi que le puse discos samsung y ram kingston.Se convirtio en un pequeño centro multimedia para el ocio y a veces trabajo.Le eh cambiado la ram de 8, 16 y ahora 32GB, con discos en RAID 0 y ahora 2 discos de diferente capacidad y rendimiento para poder tener un disco con toda mi biblioteca de audio y video, mas el disco de arranque. Super versatil y recomendada si eres una persona que le gusta meterle mano a sus equipos

Los componentes son muy fáciles de instalar. Tiene un excelente desempeño.Producto altamente recomendable.

Intel NUC8 Core i7 Gaming Mini PC Kit with dGFx (BOXNUC8i7HNK1)I thought the move from my light gaming laptop with i7-6700hq processor and Nvidia GTX 960M would have been more difficult, or resulting in a similar experience, being only able to play most titles at medium quality, but I was wrong. Older games like Skyrim at ultra quality runs beautifully and flawlessly without skipping a beat at 60+ fps. Even first person shooters on high quality mode yields upwards of 110+ fps.Granted, if you like playing the latest titles at maximum graphics, this may not be the right rig for you, as nothing is going to compare to running multiple desktop cards in SLI or Crossfire mode, but for what the NUC 8 is, it perfectly meets my needs and I have no doubt it will continue meeting them for years to come. This is a huge improvement over the previous Skull Canyon NUC.There is an upgraded model (may not yet be available), the NUC8i7HVK, which pairs a slightly (<1%) more powerful CPU with a much higher-end Radeon Vega M on-chip GPU which will no doubt be better suited for more avid gamers, but the additional cost for such a marginal improvement for workstation use is a bit steep. Think of it though as the standard and K (unlocked) desktop processors.Fully configurable RGB LED's if that is important to you. Includes a VESA mounting plate to attach it to the back of your VESA-ready monitor. If you are like me and use a monitor arm, your VESA slot is already taken up due to mounting hardware, you may need a VESA extension bracket like this one: https://amzn.to/2Kot9jYPerhaps my only complaint thus far is the size of the power brick -- the largest I've ever encountered, and I've had some 135W laptop bricks in the past. Wishful thinking, I know, but perhaps its size is because it contains some batteries to keep the unit running for a few minutes during a power outage...

I bought this NUC version because of all the ports/connectivity options. I have had a NUC7 i5BNK in the kitchen as general use and was going to get the NUC8 i7 in that form factor, but after looking at the prices of Thunderbolt expansion boxes it was an easy decision. In my initial purchase, I didn't care so much about have the AMD graphics chip. Since the ALL drivers have worked flawlessly in Windows 10 I am smiling it has AMD's RX Vega graphics every time I use it. It has been a very positive ownership experience. That said, you need patience and a little knowledge. I bought this for the purpose of writing code, and have been building PCs for a long time. Hence the desire for lots on port choices and multiple monitors. My additional components were: Samsung 970 Pro 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD and 16GB Kingston HyperX HX424S14IB2K2/16 (2 x 8GB Kit) Impact Black 2400MHz DDR4 CL14, 260 pins. Was trying to get performance while controlling cost to meet my needs.Very Happy with this purchase decision. Intel has provided updated drivers, bios updates regularly, and there Driver Assistant tool makes life easier to get and install them. I don't have any opinion on gaming so no rating given.

Mounted to the back of my monitor, this works perfectly. I don't use high end games, but for everything else it is adequate, quiet, and out of the way.
