Decent smell, a bit pithy.
I was hoping for larger granules, but it did say granules. The smell was ok, but it did have more of a pithy smell compared to other Orange peels I have purchased. Probably will not be buying again.

I love it
I premix dry barbecue rub for outdoors and this is excellent replacement for fresh lemon zest. Happy!

A bit pithy, but decent orange flavor
I primarily use this to flavor Crio-Bru cocoa coffee replacement. Works well for that, imparting a good orange flavor. I would worry a bit about using this directly in cookies or other baking due to the coarseness of the grind, but haven't tried it. There is a lot of pith with the peel, but I don't find the flavor bad, it just isn't a pure orange zest flavor.

Tastes like real Lemon Zest
I just made Lemon Poppy Seed Bread and used this in place of real Lemon zest. It smells like Lemon when you open the jar. I love the Lemon flavor it added to me bread. This product is "Top of the Line". Try it you won't be disappointed.

Bitter!
This uses the whole lemon peel, both the zest and the very bitter white pith. When added to baked goods, it gave everything a very bitter taste. I will never use this because of its bitterness and unfortunately, I cannot return it because I opened it. Such a waste of money.

Not as good as McCormick, but it'll do...
I use this with other spices as a rub for boneless/skinless chicken breasts. I was using McCormick California Lemon Peel, which I can't find in the grocery stores anymore. I bought this one and it's ok, but the grains are a bit bigger. So, I put this into a spare pepper grinder and used it that way. That works fine, but I just saw that Amazon has the McCormick one back in stock so I'm going to get a few bottles of that.
