A great introduction to the world of Zombicide - especially for superhero fans!
I've been playing Zombicide for 15 years, and CMON (the parent company) keeps envisioning and creating new iterations of the game. Two years ago, Marvel Zombies hit the scene and introduced superheroes to the game. The wide success of that version [inevitably] led to a DC superhero version of the game, as well. For those not familiar with the game, it is a survival/horror-themed game where players take on the roles of "survivors" of a zombie apocalypse. Each game the players will choose one of the scenarios that come with the game to play for the game session. Though each of the scenarios have many similarities, there are varying degrees of difficulty, objectives, and recommended player counts to be found in them. Typically, each scenario will find the players navigating through a city or through a building (made up of double-sided tiles that are mixed and matched to create the game map) to locate hidden objectives that - when found - allow them to open doors to progress to the exit or to another part of the map. Along the way, players will "rescue" civilian bystanders, pick up new weapons and gear to help the survive, and battle hordes of zombies that are intent on devouring them. A game ends when players die, at the end of a certain number of rounds, or when objectives are completed (or failed). Games typically take 1-2 hours to play, depending on how large the maps are and the difficulty level of the scenario. The game has a lot of replayability, and even after players have beaten all scenarios in the game box, additional scenarios created by fans can often be found, online. This particular game box is a smaller, less expensive, and simplified version of the regular version of the game, which will be in stores next year. The full-size version of the game includes more plastic miniatures instead of cardboard standees, more map tiles to create a larger and more diverse map, different heroes and villains, and more accessories. If you buy Gotham City Outbreak and enjoy it, you'll probably want to get the full-sized retail box, next year, to play. If you prefer the world of Marvel characters over DC, you can check out their similar product called Marvel Zombies: Heroes' Resistance.

Zombicide, but fun.
(If you've backed the kickstarter and want to know if you should get this, I saved that for the bottom.)Zombicide is a fine game, but it can overstay its welcome with long game times and some fiddley rules. This game fixes a lot of that by not requiring you be in a specific place to search for things to make you strong, you are able to do it once a turn. You have power with you can use to add additional dice to attacks, which makes getting rid of abominations and large groups easier and fun (making you feel like a hero). The bystanders are a cool addition that grant you an ability when they follow you around, but if they get killed, you take an emotional (and game mechanical) hit as well. There are only 6 heroes and 4 zombie heroes in this box, but it's enough to get a good feel for the game and to decide if you want more either in the form of Marvel Zombies (already out) or the full line of DCeased coming out soon.(If you backed the kickstarter...)I've also gone all in with the kickstarter and would still recommend this. First, you get 6 more hero cards and minis. You also get 4 zombie heroes.Heroes:Batman - Repeat character (from core), new Mini, alternate player cardRobin - Repeat character (from Gotham Knights), new Mini, alternate player cardBatgirl - Repeat character (from Gotham Knights), new Mini, alternate player cardHarley Quinn - Repeat character (from Arkham Asylum), new Mini, alternate player cardPoison Ivy - Repeat character (from Arkham Asylum), new Mini, alternate player cardBane - Repeat character (from Arkham Asylum), new Mini, alternate player cardZombie Heroes:The Huntress - Repeat character (from Gotham Knights), new mini alt cardCatwomon - Repeat character (from core), new mini alt cardThe Joker - Repeat character (from Arkham Asylum), new Mini, alternate player cardKiller Croc - Repeat character (from Arkham Asylum), new Mini, alternate player cardSo while you don't get any new characters or new forms of characters, you get a full set of alts, which is still cool. But you also get a nice self-contained, small-ish, box to bring new players in. This is done by having zombie standees instead of minis, which really help set the zombies apart from the heroes and are just easier to manage. The missions are all 4 player which means you don't need to manage as many heroes as you would in a typical game. And this also makes the game length a bit shorter, which is great for new players or if you just want a quicker game.

Good entry point for CMON Dceased
Same as with Marvel Zombies Heroes Resistance, this a cheaper entry version and it is pretty good. I truly love the miniatures and the attention to detail in every aspect of the game.

What a Fun Game!!
If you play Zombicide, or collect it like I do, then you probably already have this in your collection. However, if you're wondering if this is a good game, the answer is a resounding "YES!" It's a great entry level product to get you into the DCeased system of Zombicide. It provides HOURS of play, difficult challenges that can be tweaked to make them easier if you want to go full Hero Mode. The plastic miniatures are fantastic, as is always the case with CMON miniatures. Cool Mini Or Not collaborated with Spin Masters to produce this little gem. The enemy standiees are fun and colorful and the map tiles are detailed and provide plenty of atmosphere. If you like DC Super Heroes or the DCeased comics, this is a must have for game night!Happy Shopping!

Very Hard Tactical Board Game
Got this for my Lady, that enjoys the Batman IP. Was really fun and difficult trying to beat the tutorial teaching level. All the pieces it came with were in great condition.

DC comics meets Zombicide
This is a fantastic retail core box of the popular dice chucking game Zombicide. But it's themed after the DCeased comic storyline by DC comics.
