A PRESENT TENSE ACCOUNT OF WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE PART OF THE STONES.
Ron Schneider provides a PRESENT TENSE account of what it was like to be a ROLLING STONE at the height of their fame which kept growing and growing. From inside the fishbowl and all the planes trains and automobiles along the way, you can't help wonder what you would do if given such a chance during your 20s. The Stones came off as very down to earth and willing to work very hard most days to show up for work, which was twice (or thrice) as long as any 9 to 5 job around. To keep such a railroad moving took a clear head of Mr. Schneider and a group individually and together willing to work real hard to get where they were going. Being a rock star is a dream come true, for sure, but each member, and that includes their manager, went rough each day as true troopers. Many concerts were frightening for the band, always having to plan their getaway though throngs of over charged fans, or poor designed stage situations which often had fans grabbing, attacking, or engulfing the band. I never knew exactly what it would be like, but this book placed me in the lives of The Rolling Stones, as if it were happening TODAY. A MUST READ!

Formatting renders Kindle version unreadable.
I admit this is a somewhat unfair one star review as I haven't actually read the book. Whatever program they're using to format this is totally unacceptable. It's like reading a PDF - lots of lo-rez zooming in. Why does this not follow the standard Kindle format where you can choose fonts, font size, etc.?And yes, I'm talking about the "new" version.I'd love to read this book - Ronnie S.'s escapades have fascinated me for decades. GET IT TOGETHER, PLEASE!

Very Interesting view of the Stones
Quite an Interesting book on the Stones. Different from any other books about them, with humour and facts, maybe a bit too much about numbers and contracts however Ronnie Schneider likes numbers. Factual book, with a lot of amusing and unknown stories, giving a totally new perspective to the Stones. Worth to read, I can only recommend. Even if Ronnie Schneider is not a writer, he has got a style and a capability to make you stick on the book during hours. It’s a pity that he didn’t continue with the Stones to get more stories (and numbers😄)

What is wrong with the kindle version of this book ...
What is wrong with the kindle version of this book? There seems to be no ability to pull down a toolbar for font size. I need a microscope to read this on my phone.

Last third is copies of a bunch of documents
Not a bad book but it ends abruptly and the last third is made up of copies of contracts, telegrams and letters, presumably to pad the book. You will undoubted,y skim through these as they are of little interest

Pricey but worth it
I almost didn't order since book was more expensive than most. Plus, I'm not a fan of the Allen Klein strategy of management (I.e. in it for themselves ). However, I have found this book to be a delightful and informative read. If you are a big Stones fan, he offers insight and photos not seen or heard in any other book. It's a large paperback and heavy to hold, but rather nice to have the large print. Enjoy!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR EVERYONE INTERESTED IN THE ROLLING STONES AND THEIR HISTORY.
I have known the author for many years and had been aware of his desire to undertake the task of writing this book. Moreover, I had known the Rolling Stones and been a close friend of each and every member of the band for now more than fifty years. Ronnie Schneider telephoned me on Saturday and much to my delight brought to my Malibu beach house a dedicated hardcover copy of the book in the late afternoon. I began by examining the extraordinary wealth of documents in the copious appendices then began to read the book in earnest. Less than twenty four hours later I had finished reading it having found it so engrossing. There is a wealth of wonderful anecdotes but beyond those we are provided with a fascinating look at the chaotic problems that confronted the organization of a tour in the late Sixties and the daily problems that confronted the unfortunate person in charge of getting to the venues, dealing with the ensuing pandemonium, and getting paid for one's efforts. For me, perhaps the most interesting part of the book was the saga of the 1969 tour which culminated despite the author's efforts to avoid it in the tragedy of Altamont.I cannot praise this book enough for the incredibly detailed information it so richly provides while remaining eminently readable.

Pleasant surprise
Couple of slow parts, but in general, very entertaining. The tour insight and behind the scenes info was/is outstanding.

Very good
Very easy read and oozing authenticity... mick raped by bill wymans Astrid.. who knew! I'd never heard of ronnie before and was surprised to learn he was alan Klein's nephew. Nice clear prose style. Would've liked to twice as long. Recommended.
