This is a nice little tool which is good for making quick 90 degree cut marks. It arrives in two pieces and must be assembled with the provided screws. As you might expect, the assembled pieces do not form a perfect 90 degrees. This is actually not too much of a problem as you would not typically use the inside angle formed by this assembly to mark cuts. The assembled face allows you to position the square confidently and the key edges used to to strike a square line all check out and are adequate for woodworking tasks.The tool is made from relatively thin aluminum and very lightweight. This will not affect performance, but it does feel as though it could be easily damaged. Overall, this is nice little addition to my kit and will be helpful for quick work. I would not consider it a replacement for a precision square, but at $9.99 it is good value and worth having around.

Bought this instead of the brand name Geckos and was very disappointed. As soon we we had them locked in the first time and set a piece of hardie plank on them they slipped right off. Tried adjusting and messing with the tightness, but nothing improves. Also found out when we popped them off that the bolt to tighten them goes through and dents/scratches the piece of siding. It shouldn't do that. Manufacturerer should find a better engineer to design their stuff.

I already had a very similar tool with imperial markings, so I ordered this one specifically because it is shown as metric in every photo. The one I received looks just like the pictured tool except that all markings are imperial. There is no mention of either metric or imperial in the description, so the photos need to be reliable.These types of little woodworking tools are very handy and this one is well made, but I did not want or need imperial measurements since I already had that covered. I needed the one pictured.

The Hontaitou Woodworking 45/90-degree Protractor is a nicely finished tool for scribing ninety and forty-five degrees onto components of 3-inches or less in width. If the piece allows, then the width measurement can be doubled to six inches by placing the protractor on the opposite surface. This makes the protractor very handy for many types of projects. For larger components, I would recommend a longer variable angle protractor, but for the rest of the time, the Hontaitou protractor is quite handy due to its compact size.

This is an excellent tool to mark the standard corner and angle cuts you need to make. The only thing to point out is its size. I enclose a photo next to a standard "Swan" tool. For some that smaller size might be perfect.The tool is very well made and arrives in two pieces which are screwed together with the enclosed screws and Allan wrench. It is made from machined aluminum and can be expected to give many years of good service. Please note, that the photos in the page show metric markings, but it was delivered with Imperial markings. Also, just be aware that it is small, which for some woodworkers is a real positive. I recommend it.

When items are sent unassembled, care should be taken to prevent the various parts from being able to contact each other during transit. Otherwise, such contact can damage finished surfaces. Under certain conditions, small flat-head screws can be very efficient at causing such damage. Meaning the recipient is likely to be disappointed. New, after all, means unflawed.

The HONTAITUO 3D square is a handy tool for woodworking. I immediately noticed the finish...it appears to be bead blasted, bright dipped and anodized. The scale markings are remarkably accurate and I found the square to be great for marking around corners.

This square is small, and fits in the palm of my hand. I suppose if I would have really looked at the measurements on it, I would have known this before purchasing. I feel that it is very solid, and a good product. Great for small projects. It is a heavy duty tool, and made well.
