Grandson loves this book. Working our way through a number of Yuck books!

Personally I think Yuck books are gross .... but I'm supposed to. My nine-year old son loved this. I gave it to him at Easter when it was published and he read the whole of it on a car journey that afternoon, half on the way there and the other half on the way back, despite three other kids chatting away. That was a first! The earlier books in the series are the first 'chapter books' he read himself, some time ago when they came out, partly because I refused to read them to him; the one about the slime literally made me feel sick. I gather they are specifically designed for boys who can read but don't - not fiction, at least. And they do the job; my son is now an eager reader. It doesn't mean I like the content (any more than I liked the idiotic Rainbow Fairies my daughter started with) but reading your first book is a great feeling.
