The most useful thing about this item is the fact that there may be a situation where you may need to draw attention to yourself in a threat that you are facing, with the hope that someone that hears this go off can help come to assist you.This is a nicely built electronic whistle and led light. It is very easy to figure out how it works - the buttons are clearly marked, easy to read and function as expected. The whistle sound has several volumes you can adjust it to and the loudest can hurt your ears, it's that loud. The piercing sound is very loud at the loudest setting. And there is an LED light that you may want to avoid looking at directly due to the brightness. This comes with a lanyard that can attach to the unit if you want to hang it around your neck, a charging cable to recharge the unit and a velvety sack that the whistle can be stored in when not in use. It may be useful to become very familiar with this device so that when needed, you can quickly activate it because in a sudden threat situation, you may not have enough time to play with the settings to get the optimal effect.

I'm a volleyball coach and this works great. Whistle has different sounds and different volumes. It is the perfect and is light enough to hold in the hand or hang around the neck. Perfect for what I need.

While this is intended as a sports whistle, I purchased as a self-defense tool. I ride an electronic unicycle in many rural places. Several months ago, I had a scary encounter with a wild dog. They even built in a flashlight and its waterproof!Hopefully, I'll never have to use this device, but if I do, I am fairly sure it will ward off many attackers.Great price and stylish design.Internal battery is a relief!

Not as loud as I wanted. Pretty but too quiet to go across the playground.

I got this for riding my e-bike at night on dark trails to signal friends or pedestrians that can't see me or don't know I'm there.After using it for exactly this multiple times now I'm happy to say it works perfectly.It's loud enough on the loudest setting to almost be a weapon. Pointing it at someone close will either make them run away or get very mad. Not sure I'd test that.The four volume settings are great - I've used it on setting two as a simple friendly bike chime.Chirping it a couple times does the trick very nicely that way. Just don't do that at full volume.The night my light ran out unexpectedly I used the little light on the side of this to get me home.It was bright enough that I could see safely enough down the sidewalk to ride normally.Even after having the light on for an hour, the battery only went down one of four notches - so between the whistle and the light it'll last weeks or months of normal use on a single charge.It's a really cool and quirky little piece of tech.For coaches or referees it's cooler than a normal whistle and I'd highly recommend it.

The media could not be loaded. Item arrived fully charged, but broken. Whistle function was like the speaker was blown out on the first try. Flash light works, but it's not what I purchased it for. Vol 1 and 2 don't have sound, while 3 and 4 are the broken speaker sound.
